Pechanga Casino and Resort ~ Temecula, CA ~ February 25, 2011 ~ Review by Linda Gianotti

What a glorious start to Roger's 2011 World Tour.  A sell-out audience very warmly and enthusiastically greeted Roger when he walked out on stage.  Many fans had travelled great distances for this most special evening.  Fans were here from Montreal, Philadelphia, Hawaii, Wisconsin, and several cities in Texas, to name a few.  Several had driven two days to get here.   There was nothing that was going to keep fans from this concert.

As the first notes of Take the Long Way Home were heard, the applause was thunderous.  Throughout the show, Roger regularly engaged his audience and talked about how some of his songs came about.  He told us how Fool's Overture was actually three separate pieces of music that he had and that "one day they magically came together like a jigsaw."   Every single song performed, such as Hide in Your Shell, Child of Vision, Fool's Overture,...was sheer perfection.   Roger was in fine form and that soothing and velvety voice of his was flawless.  His band, Aaron, Bryan, Kevin, and Ian were exceptional.

Tonight we got a very special surprise to hear a rarely performed song, London, from Roger's Hai Hai album.  Sensational.  Other songs on tonight's set list that are infrequently performed were Only Because of You, If Everyone Was Listening, and Know Who You Are.   All magnificent.

Roger closed the show with Give a Little Bit, which got everyone on their feet, dancing and singing along.   It was a fantastic end to a most memorable show.   I was watching the audience as they were leaving the venue and it was so touching to see people with such beaming faces and wide smiles.   A most special evening, indeed.
