En tant qu’ancien leader de Supertramp, c’est à Roger Hodgson que l’on doit la quasi-totalité des tubes du groupe. C’est également sa voix si particulière qui caractérisa le son de Supertramp. Très régulièrement, Roger Hodgson rend visite à son public parisien, qui ne manque aucun de ses rendez-vous. Et comme à son habitude, Roger Hodgson s’exprime couramment en français.
Peu après 20h, Alex Jaffray, chroniqueur de la rubrique musique de TéléMatin et fan de Roger Hodgson, monte sur scène pour présenter Roger Hodgson. Roger Hodgson est accueili sous un toner d’applaudissements, ce qui ne fait aucun doute de son succès en France. Comme lors de son dernier passage au Palais des Congrès en 2010, Roger Hodgson interprète un set acoustique aux côtés de Aaron Mc Donald, qui accompagne Roger Hodgson depuis de nombreuses années sur plusieurs instruments : clarinette, saxophone, claviers, harmonica et flûte. La scène est décorée de bouquets de fleurs, déposés à coté d’un piano électrique et d’un piano à queue. Les effets de lumière sont simples mais efficaces, avec quelques spots à l’arrière de la scène.
Tout au long du concert, Roger Hodgson alterne entre le piano et la guitare. Excepté quelques titres tirés de l’album solo de Roger Hodgson, dont le magnifique « Lovers In The Wind », le concert est principalement composé de titres de Supertramp. Et la liste est longue : Take The Long Way Home, qui ouvre le concert, Give a little bit, Breakfast in America, Dreamer, The logical song, ou encore le mini-opéra Fool’s Overture, et bien d’autres.
Roger Hodgson vient d’annoncer une date supplémentaire à l’Olympia le 18 mai 2013. Et cette fois-ci il sera accompagné de son groupe. A ne rater sous aucun prétexte.

As a former leader of Supertramp, Roger Hodgson wrote almost all of the songs of the group. It is also his distinctive voice that characterized the sound of Supertramp. Regularly, Roger Hodgson visits Paris and his fans never miss any of his shows. As usual, Roger speaks French to his audience.
Shortly after 8:00, Alex Jaffray, columnist for the music section of Télématin and a fan of Roger's, was onstage to present him. Roger was greeted with tremendous applause, which leaves no doubt of his success in France.
As in his last appearance at the Congres in 2010, Roger performs an acoustic set alongside Aaron Macdonald, who has accompanied Roger for many years on several instruments: clarinet, saxophone, keyboards, harmonica, and flute. The stage is decorated with bouquets of flowers placed next to an electric piano and a grand piano. The lighting effects are simple but effective, with a few spots on the back of the stage.
Throughout the concert, Roger alternates between piano and guitar. Except for a few titles from his solo albums, such as the magnificent "Lovers in the Wind,” the concert consists primarily of his songs he recorded with Supertramp. The list is long: Take the Long Way Home, which opened the concert, Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, Dreamer, The Logical Song, or the mini-opera Fool's Overture, and many others.
