Casino Rama Reviews - October 27/28 2006
In 1994 my brother bought me an album by a group I'd never heard of. It was Crime Of The Century. I was hooked and have enjoyed the music ever since and still play it quite often. Your live performance was beyond expectations. It was the best concert I've ever attended. Was blown away by Fool's Overture(an amazing live performance). Keep touring as I can't wait til next year. Thanks Roger for an amazing performance.
ROGER; MY YEAR IS COMPLETE. A ROGER HODGSON CONCERT. SIMPLY WOW. EVERY YEAR I LOOK FORWARD TO THIS CONCERT. PLEASE CONTINUE THIS TRADITION. CANADA LOVES YOU. I LISTEN TO YOU EVERY ON MY WALKMAN WHEN I DO MY 5K WALK...
LOVE AND PEACE
BOB LEWIS
After having seen you in concert in Quebec City back in 1997 during your Solo Tramp Tour, I can assure you that I was awaiting anxiously to see you perform again, and when word came out of your Canadian Tour this fall, I bought tickets (the same day they went on sale) for your shows in Casino Rama.
I live in Moncton, NB, and it was a 17hour drive to get to Casino Rama to see you, and believe me it was well worth it. I went to both shows, Friday Oct. 27 and Saturday Oct. 28, and it truly was an awe-inspiring feeling both nights, to see you up on stage playing to a mesmerized audience. Words cannot express the feelings that surfaced when you walked out on stage, played and sang like no other in this world can, and so eloquently interact with the audience between songs.
You are not only an accomplished, professional gifted musical genius, but a truly heart-warming and graceful person (and comical too because you had the audience laughing both nights). You really do have an amazing connection with the audience, and as a performer you raise the bar higher that only a handful can come close to reaching, and the way you interact with the audience is so natural and so beautiful.
I was introduced to Supertramp at the age of 5, and I am now 34, and I can assure you I have all Supertramp albums and every Roger Hodgson solo album. My two brothers, who were older than me, were the one's who introduced me to your music, and they have both since left this world to live in a better one, and I am forever grateful to them for making me discover what musical is all about...there's music and then there's Roger Hodgson. You are a cut above the rest, a legend and a genuine good hearted man.
I travelled a great distance to see your shows at Casino Rama (17 hours there and 17 hours back), and everyone who knows me, knows that I am the biggest Roger Hodgson (and Supertramp) fan in Moncton, NB, and I would dare say the biggest fan in all of NB, all of Atlantic Canada and the verdict is still out about all of Canada and the world. I will be at your show in Halifax on Saturday Nov. 11, I'm looking forward to it more than ever (it'll be a bit closer to get there, only a 2 and 1/2 hour drive).
So thanks for all the music and the great shows Roger, and please keep recording and touring. You got a backlog of about 80 songs buddy, that's lots and lots of albums that still need to be recorded. Here's a thought, a double CD album....hmmm interesting eh??? And with every new album comes a tour, so for years and years to come, we will be seeing more and more of you.
I'll be seeing you in Halifax on Nov. 11th. (I was wondering, would it be too difficult to play "Red Lake" solo by yourself, without backing vocals or other instruments)

Dear Roger;
Your performance at Casino Rama in Orillia, Ontario on October 28, 2006 was absolutely fantastic. I have listened to your music since the early Supertramp days when I was 12 years old and it still holds true as some of the best music in my life.
Before the concert I was wondering how you would be able to perform some of those classics. After all this time, would you be able to hit those difficult notes and pull it all together with the orchestral arrangements? But, as soon as you started to sing, all my questions were gone. And when you performed Fool's Overture, well that did it for me. It was perfect. And so was the concert and everything you added, from your own personality to the orchestra, the sax player and the choir.
I will never forget that night and plan to attend again, whenever possible. In the meantime, I have a whole new appreciation for your music.
Thank you for adding this to my life.

Hello,
I have been to a lot of concerts including when Roger was with Supertramp. I have never visited a website to praise or even criticize. I felt compelled to make sure I sent this email because of the great time I had.
You're the best act I have seen at Rama! I am a Canadian and most certainly appreciated the acknowledgement of how well your albums sold in Canada and the fact you thanked us.
Your stage presence and interaction with the crowd was awesome! I had crappy seats but still had a blast.
You're an inspiration to the young especially the potential new musicians.
I love the way your music is so adaptable with an orchestra and I'm sure I'll be seeing you again. Just your words told us about you as a person. You love your music and the crowd fed on that.
Thanks Roger for your new music now and before. Well done and kudo's to you.
Always a fan...
Craig Cunningham
I'VE BEEN A LONG TIME SUPERTRAMP FAN, AND WAS RECENTLY IN ATTENDANCE AT YOUR CONCERT AT CASINORAMA IN ORILLIA, ONTARIO...OUTSTANDING!!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT! KEEP UP THE AWESOME!
GOD BLESS!!!!!

Hello there Roger.
I loved you at Casino Rama this October.I have had you in my life since I was 17,thanks to my brother and his week end parties. Two years ago me and my husband were in a bad car accident and I wasn't expected to live. With the love and strength of angels i survived and my brother would play your music to me while in a coma.I heard you Rog and I knew I was still here and had not gone on.Your words are so strong and yes Roger you made me love you.I love that song and I can't say enough to you other than I would love to meet you and have a cup of tea with you.You are my music and to finally see you in person I didn't think my brain would allow me the noise or all the people but it was a "Special " nite and I bought all your cd's and your dvd and have listened to you every day and you put me to sleep at nite.Thank you for sharing a little about your life with me and I'm sorry you were in a boy's school so young. You poor boy and now I have more meaning to the songs I hear becaus e you made them more personal, not too many artists share. From the bottom of my heart I truly believe your music helped bring me back to this life,I owe you so much. All the very best to you and your expanding band. The chap from Ontario is so talented, you can teach him alot and with your kind soul and big,big heart I am sure you will. Never give up and Good Luck to you. Your Number 1 fan, your friend Jules.xoxo
My wife and I flew up from NYC for the weekend just for this concert. Even though I'm out of work we just had to see him and make the trip. We haven't seen Roger perform since the 98 SoloTramp tour at the Bottom Line in NYC. Our seats were hugging the wall at Casa Rama and we weren't sure what kind of sound we would get. But it was just amazing. I was curious to see how an orchestra would enhance the music and you can see the results with "School" and "Even in the Quietest Moments". It was truly an amazing and well worth traveling to event. I just hope he comes back to the states for a tour or else I'll have to come back to Canada to get my fix. By the way, I go back to when Supertramp first played their first concert in America at the Beekman theatre in NYC. I was hooked ever since.

My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the first of Roger's Tour, The Long Way Home at Rama Oct28th.
Never have I witnessed an audience connect with such intensity with its artist.
Roger thrilled everyone, including his Orchestra and Chorus. Undoubtably the best concert we've ever attended!
Come back home soon !!

Amazing show!! I am an avid concert goer and this show was definitely in the top 10 of all time! I collect my concert stubs from all shows I have seen and have since my first concerts (The Bee Gees @ Hamilton Place & Pink Floyd at Ivor Wynn Stadium both in1975.) I can still remember how electrifying the Supertramp show "Crime of the Century" was at Maple Leaf Gardens on June 2, 1977. The price of a ticket a mere $8.50 (tax included!!) I thought the price of tickets for this Rama performance was very reasonable compared to most other concerts on today given the quality of show and quantity of musicians that needed to be paid. Blown away by your mastery on stage, your voice is impeccable, the passion you exude for your music and your audience is heartfelt. We long time fans of Supertramp and Roger Hodgson had "the treat of a lifetime" on Friday night at Casino Rama It was well worth the drive in that nasty weather!. The Canadian Idol performance was a nice touch and shows what a mentor you are. Finding the true gem in a very talented horn/keyboard player (Erin from London) was awesome as well. (My honey Rob is a sax player and enjoyed the excitement with which Erin played and the great sound he had). The Elora Festival Singers gave me shivers as well as the very talented band and Orchestra and background vocalists. I always wanted to hear your music played with violins and it sure surpassed my expectations. I was so moved by the ballads you sang, brought back a lot of memories, I still listen to your music all the time strategically placed in my Ipod. "The Two of Us" "Hide in Your Shell" (my personal favorite) "Lord Is It Mine?" "Easy Does It" and "A Soapbox Opera" (nice surprise) were just some of the songs that brought tears to my eyes. You were born to play those songs with an orchestra, I'm surprised it took so long to play them that way. "Even in the Quietest Moments" was a stunning version done acoustically. Music is Passion and that was surely evident in your performance.
Please do come back this way again (Toronto/Hamilton area would be nice too). I will definitely attend all shows in this area and bring many friends!! Thanks for keeping the music alive for those of us who won't let go of our 70's!

We came to your first concert at Rama (2004-solo performance) with Friends 2 years ago and it was fantastic. We decided if you came the next year we would all go again and we did. The music in 2005, with the Orchestra behind you gave your Supertramp songs and a couple of new ones so much more meaning. Your singing was beautiful. It was another fantastic evening. We then decided that it was a standing date for all of your Rama evenings. We came to the Saturday concert (Oct 28/06) and we knew it would be another fantastic evening but you out did yourself once again. I have been a fan for years but to hear a lot of your songs now and to know the meaning behind some of them them made it more magical. This was your best concert yet. You came to life with the music, the Orchestra, Choir and Eric. We truly saw how happy you are doing what you do as it comes out in your music. The concert was an all time high for all of us and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We look forward to next year!

Roger;
I have been a Supertramp fan for over 30 years now and worn out several copies each album, cassete and now CD of every Supertramp and Roger Hodgson release. I have been commuting over 2 hours a day to work for over 20 years and logged countless hours of your great music and still can't get enough. I watched you live for the first time last year at Casino Rama and was so impressed with you and the orchestra I just had to convince my wife we had to see you again this year (Even though it is a 10 hour drive from Kingston NY) Well she agreed and we saw you on Saturday along with the orchestra and choir, well needless to say we now both agree we will be back next year with our kids and watch you both on Friday and Saturday nights...I don't want to plan your schedule for you Roger but it is in ours.... and as you can tell by the size and reaction from your audience I think countless others plan on putting it in thiers too.

My wife and I have been to all your concerts here the last 3 years, and hope you keep returning. We purchased the DVD at the latest concert on Saturday Oct.28-06, FANTASTIC!!!! Since my personal preference is the solo performance, like you did the first time at Rama, the DVD is really special.
But, for all the people that are able to be on stage with you in the other performances, this would be really special for them. It takes a person who really loves what they are doing to give so many others the chance to be part of your show.
Please be sure " The Long Way Home " includes Casino Rama.

Roger, Just have to tell you that I too attended boarding School and without the music of Supertramp during those years from 78-82 life would have been a whole lot harder. You lifted my spirits when they needed lifting.
I saw the band perform in Sudbury a couple of years ago and without a doubt your absence was obvious. I saw you for a second time on Friday Oct 27th at Casino Rama. Seeing that curtain rise to reveal the orchestra gave me goose bumps.
I brought my 19 year old son along and he too an aspiring musician who is now hooked on your songs.
Excellent performance. You're in our hearts,
Please come back.

Saturday nights concert was absolutely fantastic. I never expected the orchestra and that was truly magical. The sound was fantastic and Roger, you were so humble I could feel that you were truly enjoying the experience of playing with so many awesome musicians. When our young "canadian idol" made his appearance on stage you could not have wiped the look of "i am singing with ROGER HODGSON" off his face. What an experience for him and what an incredible thing for Roger to do for young talent! It was a special night and I had so many flash backs to my high school days and being at the CNE in 1979. Thank you so much.

Dear Mr. Hodgson (Roger),
My wife & I would like to thank you for sharing with us a fantastic performance on Friday Oct. 27th (CasinoRama date). We were co-celebrating our 40th birthdays, and were very happy to be able to arrange for tickets to see the show. Having grown up with your music, we knew we'd be happy - however you simply blew us away that night!
Without a doubt, your sound & amazing vocals took us back to our earlier years when we spent many, many hours enjoying your work. Great job!
I would also like to take the time to let you know that your love for music is not lost on your fans - your passion lives on, which was obvious to us as you were clearly moved during some of the numbers - as were we.
Whatever you are doing in your life that allows you to continue to share your work with us in this manner, please keep it up!
Your newest DVD will soon be accompanying your previous work in our music collection - we are anxious to share it with our friends.
Fantastic show - we hope Canadian dates will remain in your future plans!
best regards Roger,

The Casino Rama concert was truly a joy! My wife and I enjoyed hearing your songs and reliving fond memories of our teenage years. The show with the choir, band and orchestra was world class. Your voice is still truly amazing and we appreciated all the encore songs. We hope you can come back to this area soon and we will come see you again.
Thanks from Barrie

'OUT OF THIS WORLD' is all I can say to sum up the experience of hearing you perform and sing your beautiful songs every time you come to Casino Rama (2 years now and looking forward to many many more!) Our 20-year old daughter is just as turned on by your music as my husband and myself and she spends many hours at the piano trying to re-create the magic in our home - just want to say a big THANK YOU for all the joy and music you continue to spread throughout the world and now to a new generation - Saturday night was truly magical and we didn't think you could outdo 2005 but YOU DID!

I have never sent an email to any artist ever. Maybe I should have. That said I would like to pass on many thanks to Roger for the fantastic performance given on Oct/28/06 at casino Rama in Orillia, Ont.
The entire group of talented artists on stage were at their best and it was most appreciated.
My very best regards.
Dale Morin
Just wanted to pass on my thanks for a great show in Casino Rama Oct 28 2006. It's been 30 years since I saw Supertramp preform in Winnipeg Manitoba. Each of Rogers songs brought me to a place back in the early 70's. Each one brought a tear to my eye for one reason or another (Don't tell anyone..LOL). It's like I was 18 again. His voice is as crisp and clear now as I remember it then. Thank you so much for allowing me to see my youth again.
All the best,
Dan.
Roger,
Thank you for an amazing weekend in Ontario. You gave us two stellar performances, each night was very unique. You made so many people so very happy with your music. It was wonderful the stories you shared with us between songs - it gave us all a better understanding of where the music came from.
The arrangement of "Oh Brother" with just perfect - you don't need to add any more instruments besides the piano and strings. The highlight of both nights performance-wise was when you played "Only Because of You." I have waited for 22 years to hear this song live, and let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait! Made me cry, too...
This was definitely worth the 20 hour road trip to come see you! Hope to see you again soon.
Much love,
Rita
Hi Roger just wanted to thank you for the perfect evening your concert was amazing. You made such an impression as being a kind and thoughtfull person. It was nice to be thanked so many times for being there I really felt that you cared about everyone. You are such a musician and song writer. Your voice was amazing to be able to hit all the high notes and sound just like you did all those years ago. I am glad God gave you the talent that you have and you are puting that talent for so much good. Hope to hear more great music thanks for singing Fool's Overture that is one of my favourite's. All the best in the future!!!!
Love Janine Walker
Attended Saturday night's show. What magic? Roger, you are a remarkable talent. I have seen you now on several occasions, and leave each time with a feeling of solitude and peace. Sadness, distance, angst, all made beautiful through the music. I have said before, and I will say again, your music has been the tapestry of much of my life, and I am richer for it.
Thanks again, and I cannot wait to see you when next you travel to these parts!

Roger,
It was great to see you back at Casino Rama again this year, I have attended 3 times the first you were solo second time accompanied by orchestra and this time accompanied again. I to am a long time fan, not only of Supertramp but of Roger Hodgson as a solo artist. You are truly a artist extrordinaire and above that a true gentleman, your ability to touch the audience not only through your music but also your kindred spirit is unsurpassed by any.
I truly hope you will continue to return to Casino Rama for years to come.

Hey Roger:
What a joy it was seeing you again at Casino Rama. I actually cut my vacation 2 days short just to get back to see you, and it was well worth it.
You are so amazing, each and every year that I see you, and it's so touching to see how much all your Canadian fans adore you and your music.
My biggest thrill of course, was seeing you backstage and speaking to you personally. You are such a genuine person, filled with so much love and compassion, and all of your emotions comes out in your music. You are so unique and so loved.
I hope you come back next year to Casino Rama, I always look forward to seeing you, and listening to your amazing music and wonderful show.
I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your tour, and all the very best to you, always, Love, Diane
Hey Roger,
My boyfriend and I along with my father and his girlfriend attended your concert at Rama on October 27, 2006. I was blown away by your music and have now come to enjoy it myself since my boyfriend is already a huge fan of yours. I really enjoyed myself and am now hooked on your songs. I found the concert was magical and was also wonderful adding the ochestra and choir to it. We hope that you will come back again next year because I would love to see you in concert again. Thanks for a wonderful time from myself, my boyfriend, father and father's girlfriend. Always remember you are loved and you know how to rock!
Amber, Brad, Gary and Antionette
What a wonderful experience it was to see you again this year at Casino Rama. My fiance and I were lucky enough to get second row seats and quite frankly; I have never sat closer to the stage in my life and we were not dissapointed by any means. From start to finish, your personal love for your music and your fans was heart warming. The sneak preview of Sister Moonshine set the stage for the evening and the love affair with your fans was apparent throughout. Having purchased your DVD just a few weeks ago was a wonderful warm up to your live show and a great addition to my music collection. The addition of the orchestra and choir for the Rama shows was also incredible and a joy to listen to. "Fools Overture" gave me goosebumps. My fiance's love for the saxaphone, which was utilized wonderfully throughout the show added to her concert enjoyment as well. I thought your show from Rama in 2005 was terrific but this year's was a dream. I as many others have grown up with your musi c and I am one of the every 15 Canadians that owns "Crime of the Centery" as well as "Breakfast in America"; not to mention all Supertramp albums as well as your solo material. Roger, thank you for coming back once again to Ontario and I look forward to a possible 2007 date! Your music truly stands the test of time and your following of fans proves it once again. Cheers and thank you! It was a night we both will never forget!
Randy Meredith
Roger,
I have seen over 200 concerts the past 25 years and yours is definitely amongst the best I've EVER seen!
I was one of the lucky memebers of the audience that met you after the show backstage and your genuine humble nature was so gratifying to witness in todays world.
As you said, I will continue to come see your shows until my 14 year old son attains age of majority to come witness a legend in his own time!
Thank you Roger,
Rob Barkin
I wanted to write and thank you for yet another great show. My wife and I have been to your show for each of the past three years (not four..grin). Your show the other night was fantastic, although everyone of your shows has been memorable.
Our favourite was actually the first time when you were suffering through the show with a bad cold. Some of your vocals were strained and you had to stop the show to blow your nose.....None of this mattered because you still gave it your all and in a way you are just better without the orchestra as it allows for a more personal experience.
Either way, with or without the orchestra, we look forward to next year. Maybe you could perform at Massey Hall or another Toronto venue.
thanks for sharing your music with us.
Dan & Shafana Brammer
All I can say is 'UNBELIEVABLE' - your concert at Casino Rama was wicked. We enjoyed the show immensely. The orchestra and choir were incredible and we loved your sexy sax player. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Looking forward to your next visit to the Toronto Area.
Karen Lessard-Liacos
Hi Roger,
I had the best time at your Saturday concert at Rama. I love your guitar playing! Somewhere I have a 12 string guitar, I need to get it out and try some of your tunes. The songs bring back great memories, the words are beautiful. It was great to end with everyone singing Give a little bit...
We all need to give more.
Please come back!
Kathleen
hey roger you say you love canada ....well to be a true great one in canada wayne gretzky always gave his hockey stick to a fan after the game so i think you should send me your guitar after all i have three crime of the century albums one of which is an audiophile one worn out and one on the way to worn out...i have all the other supertramp albums and cds so thats why i think i deserve your gameday guitar....lmao....we thought the show was incredible and will see you the next time through......i hadnt heard the newer stuff buy was greatly impressed and now will have to expand my collection.....once again great great show. dan and brenda

I drove almost 2 hours to get to Roger's show in drizzling rain/slush and 2 hours after the show in blowing snow and still had a most fantastic time. Roger with the orchestra was amazing! every song (even the ones I was less familiar with) was solid - I had goosebumps a number of times. I saw Supertramp in the 70's at the now gone Exhibition Stadium and remember it as being one of the best shows I'd seen up to that time. Now that I'm older I can really appreciate the subtle complexities that are trademark to Roger & Supertramp music. It was a great show by an artist who seems to enjoy entertaining. I hope you come back soon, hopefully a little closer to home but I'll drive that drive if I need to. Thanks Again!

Saturday night October 28, 2006 Casino Rama Concert Reviews:
Your Oct 28th show at Casino Rama gave me shivers and brought tears to my eyes. It was a totally emotional show as I grew up with you and Supertramp. Just an awesome job.
Thank you,

Subject: The Greatest Artist (Casino Rama concert)
Dear Roger,
I just saw your show at the Casino Rama entertainment centre (Saturday, October 28/06). You made me relive so many fond memories of my teens years by listening to your songs. You exceeded my expectations. You are truly a legend and I must say I was profoundly touched by your humility and gentle personality. The orchestra and choir ensemble was magical, thank you, merci, for such a memorable evening. Your music will forever be eternal.
God Bless!
Anna-Marie Tiveron
Hi Roger!
Thanks for a wonderful performance at Casino Rama! Your concert was one of the best we have ever been to! Thank you so much for a great evening out! We all grew up listening to your music (High school years.... we all have "Breakfast in America") and it's phantastic to see that you still enjoy performing as much as you do! Your heart is really in it! Please do come back!
How did you like the snow - on October 28th, no less - by the way???

Hi Roger,
I attended your show last night at Casino Rama and it was absolutley!! amazing.
Your use of an orcheastra and choir demonstrates your passion to performing and making wonderful music. I watched your last performance at MapleLeaf Gardens in Toronto with Supertramp and was hooked then, and without taking anything away from your other Supertramp band members, but the last 2 years I have attended all your shows at Casino Rama and Kitchener Auditorium and your songs sound even better now , then when you toured with SuperTramp . I cannot wait till next show.
I find your music spirtual and uplifting and hope you continue to connect with others for a long time with your music and life experince . It will inspire future musicians and make the world a happier place. The DVD like your concert is well worth the price and would recommend it to any music fans library.
Thanks Nick Minichillo

Dear Roger
Thank you for the great night in Orillia (Casino Rama ) on Oct 28 !!
Your performance (with the text of your songs!!) was fantastic.
We attend the concerts at Rama on the regular basis for many years but that was far the biggest success what we saw there.
Yours truly and CONGRATULATION
Gyula
Hi Roger! What an amazing concert!!! I have never seen you in concert before but have loved the Supertramp music for a long time. Recently I have been playing a Supertramp C.D. for an autistic child that I work with. This child loves your music and it is great to see him respond. I am a music therapist and your music and the concert experience have been very therapeutic for me. I love the way you are 'one' with the music and and the music and your performance is truly a spiritual experience. The combination with the orchestra was fantastic as well as the choir. I am looking forward to exploring your solo music and hope that you come back to Ontario soon. I would like to bring my children to a concert but unfortunately can't do that at the Casino. Finally, I hope you will be releasing a C.D. of this concert because the sound was phenomenal. Please release one with you and the orchestra. Fool's Overture was truly an awesome experience. Thanks!!

Friday night October 27, 2006 Casino Rama Concert Reviews:
My husband & I attended your concert last night in Orillia. It was fantastic!! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We were celebrating our 19 wedding anniversary & were thrilled that you played "Two of Us" in your encore (even if it was sung for another couple).
We last saw you at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto in 1983 (when we were first dating). I can assure you we plan on attending any future concerts you plan in the Toronto area. Your voice was just as good last night as it was 23 years ago! Bravo.
Lynda Dus
This performance was jaw dropping. It was like turning the clock back 25 years. Roger's voice was as it was in Supertramp's heyday. The arrangements were superb, as was the orchestra and choir. On more than one occasion, the hair literally stood up on my arms and neck, especially during "school". If you are a fan of Supertramp, do not miss this tour.
Joe Turcotte
I would just like to say that the concert was an amazing piece of nostalgia for all Supertramp fans. One could close their eyes and it was as if one was back in the 70's listening to a Supertramp concert only better.
Roger's voice is as great today as it was 20 years ago. The addition of the orchestra and choir only added to the amazing evening.
After always being a Supertramp fan I am now a true Roger Hodgson fan.
Roger if you read this please come back so I can introduce your music to the next generation who next year will be old enough to attend the Casino.
Take great care, JB (Jay Bentley)
Well, after having front & centre in '04 and '05 - I was in the upper deck. Roger - You are simply amazing. You have an uncanny ability to make us feel as 'one', in the audience. I wasn't expecting the same feeling from high above - but it was superb. And let's not forget 'School' !!!!! Good job, very good job. Hopefully when you get that polished up, you can surprise those of us screaming 'Had a Dream' next year. Until then, 'Let it Be' - fantastic show, thank you.
Gary Sheridan
Just wanted to thank Roger and his crew of musicians for such a great show. It was the best concert I have ever been to and my husband says the same. Thank you coming back after so long and putting on such a high quality, energetic and uplifting experience. You make the world a better place not just with your music but with your dialogue and communications with your audience. You inspire us to return to music and use it as a tool to enhance and enjoy and reflect on our lives.
You're wonderful.
Gratefully,

ps. can I tell my brother in Melbourne that you'll be on your way there?
Thank you Roger for an amazing show last night at Rama! My wife Ann and I had a great time and have loved your music for a long time. In 1980 I practically wore out the Paris album. You, along with Rush, helped convert me from being a classical pianist to a present-day rock-keyboardist. The only song I would have also liked to hear was, "Child of Vision". Your orchestra were amazing, and your band were phenomenal. I was carefully watching your drummer and sax player, and was VERY impressed with their professionalism and dedication to hitting the marks. I also was amazed with your voice and how you can still hit those high notes! What's your secret!? :) Personally, I'd even like to be able to hold a single vocal note... We purchased your DVD and this will be a great memory of my wife's birthday yesterday. Continued blessings for the rest of your tour and career! Why stop when you looked like you were having as much fun on stage as we all were in the audience! :)
Bravo!

Hi Roger...just caught your show at Casino Rama in Orillia Last night and you were fantastic!!! What a treat to see you with a full orchestra too!!! I saw you with Supertramp on your "Farewell Tour" in 1982 in Ottawa...I loved your voice then and I l still love it now, and I'm glad to hear (and happy to be able to tell you!!!) that you still have it!!! I'm from North Bay, Ontario, and we have a theatre here called The Capitol Centre (it holds 1000 people...very intimate and a great sound), and it would be great to see you there...the e-mail address is www.capitolcentre.ca. Hope to see you there...take care & have a great tour!!!

Wow! I had been to Maple Leaf Gardens in 1977 for their tour of in support of E.I.T.Q.M's; but this show was something special. Roger had the orchestra and Elora Festival singers in support and the effect was incredible. Rama has a great sound and still manages an intimate setting for the size of the venue.
The choice of songs was great and Rogers voice still sounds like he is in his prime. His rapport with the audience was very genuine. He really seemed to be having a great time and did not want to leave the stage. Hearing him play Let It Be for an encore was quite cool also.
I think with this tour he has reached another pinnacle in his amazing career. The guitar and piano work he did on stage were perfect; but not exactly like on the albums. He injected enough of his personality to make them seem fresh and alive. The arrangements really made the show something to remember.
It was great seeing Supertramp in their prime; but Roger still has it!

Hi Roger..
It's the day after your first concert date here in 2006 at Casinorama. I do not have words to express how awesome it was to see you again! I saw you solo at the Government in Toronto but this concert was totally amazing. You've always been a special part of my music collection and i still have a handwritten note that you wrote to me years ago in the Supertramp days. I agree with alot of the comments that Supertramp was one of the greatest bands of all times but YOU were the biggest part of the success of that band..and YOU STILL GOT IT! All the best to you and many years of continued success!

Hello Roger & staff
Just wanted to let you know that last nights show at Casino Rama was the among the best performances I have ever seen! It's been 20 some odd years since I last saw you and the boys {Supertramp} at CNE Stadium in Toronto and in no way was I expecting what transpired at Rama last night !
The addition of the 30 some odd piece Orchestra and the Chior was overwhelming to the eyes and ears ! You just simply have to make that performance available on DVD!!!!!!!!!!! From what I saw on the TV screens during the show, the camera work was great and would be a tremendous loss not to have that amazing performance by you and your supporters available for your fans...Montreal was great, but not on the same page as Rama!!
Continued success with your Canadian tour..and with regards to you being appreciative of your Canadian fans, you'll always have a place to crash when your at Casino Rama!
If the powers that be will allow it , I will see you again next year ! And let us know if the DVD becomes a reality.

My wife and I saw your concert Friday night Oct. 27, and we totally enjoyed your show. You put on a fantastic performance. The only other time we saw you perform was with Ringo Starr and his All Star Band. After seeing you there, we knew we had to see you again. You did not disappoint. You have made two fans very happy. Thank you and we hope to see you again.

Mr Hodgson At 52 years of age this is the first time ever I have left a note on someone's website. Thank You for a brilliant concert. I have in the past seen Supertramp once, Yourself solo once, and now with the orchestra. This last show was the best yet, outstanding!!!! Especially rewarding was the fact you were using brilliant Ontario talent in the show.
Orillia was indeed honoured to experience the full "Orchestral Hodgson" Dont forget their phone numbers when you come back,so you can bring them along also!!!

My wife and I had the pleasure of watching Roger's Canadian tour debut show at Casino Rama on Friday, October 27th. The show, with Roger's touring band backed by an orchestra and choir, was simply majestic; despite his advancing age he still looked great and had complete control of both his instruments and his tremendous vocal range.
The set list closely followed that of the DVD, with a few twists. Roger's Canadian Idol protégé joined him for several songs, and appeared supremely star-struck by the entire experience. As part of the encore, Roger performed a splendid rendition of "Let It Be".
The orchestral arrangements on "School" and "Fool's Overture" were stunning, as was Roger's solo playing. He effortlessly glided between piano, synthesizer and guitar as the show progressed. "Dreamer" proved that his golden voice is still as sweet as it was decades ago.
The bad weather did make for us taking the long way home, but the show was worth the five hours we spent traveling to and from the venue. I cannot more strongly recommend that all fans of Roger's work make the effort to see this gifted performer live.
