Roger will be performing WITH HIS BAND IN SPAIN this summer for two shows ONLY…
• JULY 12 in TARRAGONA, SPAIN at Auditori del Camp de Mart
Auditori del Camp de Mart is one of the most beautiful open-air venues in Catalonian. This Festival is just 90km south of Barcelona on the coast.
Tickets for Tarragona are available here.
“My show in Tarragona, Spain is the first time I will come to Spain with my new band. I am very excited to be presenting my band for the first time in Spain in Tarragona.
I am looking forward to playing in the beautiful setting in Camp de Mart. I know it will be a special atmosphere and it will give a magical ambiance to my concert. I very much enjoy playing beautiful places like this one in Tarragona.”
• August 1 Cap Roig, Calella De Palafrugell, (Gerona)
For those who waited in Cap Roig for the storm to pass last summer, you'll be happy to hear Roger will return - this time WITH HIS BAND!
Tickets for Cap Roig are available here.
“I am very happy to be returning to Cap Roig, it’s a very special venue. I was very sad last year that the concert had to be cancelled because of a major thunderstorm that broke out just as we were about to start the concert. The best I could do at that time was to come out and sign autographs and say hello to people. I much prefer to be able to share my music and my heart with them through giving a concert.
I enjoy these smaller, more intimate type of festivals very much. The whole Cap Roig venue is very special. It’s very intimate and in a beautiful setting. I can understand why people enjoy going to this venue to see artists.
I have not spent much time in the Costa Brava but was incredibly impressed by the beauty last year when I came. I hope to have more time to explore the wonderful beauty of that coast.”
These are the last two shows in Spain for 2011 so don’t wait - tickets are on sale now!
Check out this review from Roger’s recent performance in Beirut….
“Hodgson’s unique voice has lost none of its potency in the four decades that have elapsed since Supertramp was formed. As effective on stage as in the studio, Hodgson’s rendering of such hits as “School” was indistinguishable from the version he recorded so long ago.
His rendition of “Hide in Your Shell” was especially beautiful and weeping audience members waved their arms or simply swayed and hummed in thoughtful accompaniment.
It was with Hodgson’s best-known hits, “Breakfast in America” and “The Logical Song” that really got the audience going – rushing the stage, standing on chairs and dancing in any available space. It was no surprise that Hodgson got a standing ovation at the end of both songs.
Hodgson was accompanied by a band of four remarkably talented musicians: Aaron McDonald on sax, Ian Stewart on bass, Kevin Adamson on keyboards and drummer Bryan Head.
Mr. Supertramp himself alternated between synthesizer, guitar and piano.
Nowadays, Hodgson describes his music as “heart rock.” He continues to write tunes but is not recording, he says, “because I feel that in performance I can give hope. That is what I have to do.”
