Casino Rama Concert Reviews Oct 2006 |
Your Oct 28th show at Casino Rama gave me shivers and brought tears to my eyes. It was a totally emotional show as I grew up with you and Supertramp. Just an awesome job. Thank you, |
Dear Roger, I just saw your show at the Casino Rama entertainment centre (Saturday, October 28/06). You made me relive so many fond memories of my teens years by listening to your songs. You exceeded my expectations. You are truly a legend and I must say I was profoundly touched by your humility and gentle personality. The orchestra and choir ensemble was magical, thank you, merci, for such a memorable evening. Your music will forever be eternal. /p> God Bless!, |
Hi Roger, Thanks for a wonderful performance at Casino Rama! Your concert was one of the best we have ever been to! Thank you so much for a great evening out! We all grew up listening to your music (High school years.... we all have "Breakfast in America") and it's phantastic to see that you still enjoy performing as much as you do! Your heart is really in it! Please do come back! How did you like the snow - on October 28th, no less - by the way??? Thanks again, hello from the great white north.... |
Last night, I was in Casino Rama, Where Roger was in concert.. I have had the tickets now for 2 month.. and wow..what a performance..? huge 'Tramp fan..!! but with the end of the band as we know it, became a huge fan of Roger's.. he is and was the voice of 'Tramp. and like he said last nite on stage.. Canada has a huge love affair with first Supertramp and now Roger as he he has emerged as a singles artist.. last night was very special, and i wanted to say thanks for doing what you do.. (I am a 64 year young, old rocker and I brought my son to the concert last nite, he also a huge fan of both the band and the man.. we rocked together and it was very cool.) again thanks so much Stu... |

Hi Roger, I attended your show last night at Casino Rama and it was absolutley!! amazing. Your use of an orcheastra and choir demonstrates your passion to performing and making wonderful music. I watched your last performance at MapleLeaf Gardens in Toronto with Supertramp and was hooked then, and without taking anything away from your other Supertramp band members, but the last 2 years I have attended all your shows at Casino Rama and Kitchener Auditorium and your songs sound even better now , then when you toured with SuperTramp . I cannot wait till next show. I find your music spirtual and uplifting and hope you continue to connect with others for a long time with your music and life experince . It will inspire future musicians and make the world a happier place. The DVD like your concert is well worth the price and would recommend it to any music fans library. Thanks |
DEAR ROGER: LAST NIGHT ME A MY HUSBAND ATTENDED YOUR CONCERT AT CASINO RAMA.IT WAS TRULY MAGICALTO LISTEN TO YOU, YOUR ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR!!IT WAS PERHAPS THE MOST ENJOYABLE CONCERT I HAVE ATTEND IN A FEW YEARS. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR UPCOMING TOUR YOUR MUSIC WILL CONTINUE TO ECHO THROUGH OUR HOUSE. SINCERELY YOURS |
Roger-- You were amazing , such a talent!! thank you for coming to Ontario Canada.
|
Dear Roger, Thank you for the great night in Orillia (Casino Rama ) on Oct 28 !! Your performance (with the text of your songs!!) was fantastic. We attend the concerts at Rama on the regular basis for many years but that was far the biggest success what we saw there. Yours truly and CONGRATULATION |
Hi Roger! What an amazing concert!!! I have never seen you in concert before but have loved the Supertramp music for a long time. Recently I have been playing a Supertramp C.D. for an autistic child that I work with. This child loves your music and it is great to see him respond. I am a music therapist and your music and the concert experience have been very therapeutic for me. I love the way you are 'one' with the music and and the music and your performance is truly a spiritual experience. The combination with the orchestra was fantastic as well as the choir. I am looking forward to exploring your solo music and hope that you come back to Ontario soon. I would like to bring my children to a concert but unfortunately can't do that at the Casino. Finally, I hope you will be releasing a C.D. of this concert because the sound was phenomenal. Please release one with you and the orchestra. Fool's Overture was truly an awesome experience. Thanks!!
|
My husband & I attended your concert last night in Orillia. It was fantastic!! We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We were celebrating our 19 wedding anniversary & were thrilled that you played "Two of Us" in your encore (even if it was sung for another couple). We last saw you at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto in 1983 (when we were first dating). I can assure you we plan on attending any future concerts you plan in the Toronto area. Your voice was just as good last night as it was 23 years ago! Bravo. Lynda Dus This performance was jaw dropping. It was like turning the clock back 25 years. Roger's voice was as it was in Supertramp's heyday. The arrangements were superb, as was the orchestra and choir. On more than one occasion, the hair literally stood up on my arms and neck, especially during "school". If you are a fan of Supertramp, do not miss this tour. Joe Turcotte I would just like to say that the concert was an amazing piece of nostalgia for all Supertramp fans. One could close their eyes and it was as if one was back in the 70's listening to a Supertramp concert only better. Roger's voice is as great today as it was 20 years ago. The addition of the orchestra and choir only added to the amazing evening. After always being a Supertramp fan I am now a true Roger Hodgson fan. Roger if you read this please come back so I can introduce your music to the next generation who next year will be old enough to attend the Casino. Take great care, |

Bonjour Roger, Great Concert, I live in Toulouse and drove 2 hours to see you. fanstatic!!! I saw Supertramp in 2002, it was nothing compare to your concert. The real voice of Supertramp. Merci, merci and come back soon Philippe |
Roger, I never saw you before, I have asked my wife and children to come, first they didn't want but now it will be a big souvenir for them. Do you have a DVD ? Hope to go to another concert . (sorry for my English) Pierre |
Incroyable! magnifique concert. Je suis de Paris et j'étais en vacances quand j'ai vu l'affiche. Superbe concert et un grand bravo à votre saxophoniste. (sorry no english, thank you Roger). Nathalie |
Dear Roger, Everytime you come in France I come. This time was better than ever. I could see you were enjoying on stage. And what a great sax player ! After the show, you gave me a kiss from your car, and to my sister too. Thank you again. Anne |
Roger, What a concert! We bought our tickets one month ago, and came from Nimes. All the family enjoyed, I have all the records of Supertramp, and I have yours. I like your new song, will you do a new record? Marc |
Thank you for your concert, from the bottom of my heart, you are so nice, a sweet person. Thank you, merci! Alexandre |
Great show, we were allowed to see the soundcheck, and then to talk with you for 2 minutes. I will keep this moment in my heart forever. Thank you. Frank |
Theux Reviews |
Many thanks for your nice concert in Theux this saturday 9/9. I was very impressed by the quality of the game and the voice. Obviously Supertramp was nothing but you! A great great evening and I'm not the only one to say it (by far). Jean-Marc Charette |
Dear Roger, Last Saturday (September 9th, 2006) I attended your concert at Theux (Belgium). It was one of the best concerts I have ever experienced in my 36-year-old existence on this planet. With your music, you brought back of lot of beautiful memories! I have the following question for you: who was that amazing Canadian musician who accompanied you on stage ? His touches of clarinet, saxophone,... made your excellent performance even richer. Thank you for your reaction. Yours sincerely, Geert Van Cauwenberge |
Roger, You gave a little more than a fantastic musical show yesterday. You gave a little bit of your love to the people assembled in this small village to celebrate your music. Chloé, my twelve year old daughter, will never forget the smile that you sent while she was sitting on my shoulders during that last "give a little bit". Jean Marc |
Thank you! I want to thank you, Roger for your concert last night at Theux in Belgium. You remind me a lot of things of my past. I feel so emotions in my body last earing you. Now I'm 43 years old and I realize somes others things than before ( when I was a scholl boy). Thanks a lot for all the things you gave to me. Stamatis |
P.S. Please come back next year in our country and have a good time for your holiday in Belgium. |
I would like to thank Roger for the wonderful concert in Theux. This is one of the best concert I have attended ever. Such a quality of music being just accompanied by a saxophonist is simply breath taking. From the first song till the last, I have been litteraly transported. What a musician and singer ! Moreover, Roger displayed such a kindness and humility, it is unbelievable. The Supertramp hits that he sang were pulling me 25 years back, when I was a student at the university and was listening to "Even in the quietest moments" when I was feeling down. These days, in my mid 40's, I am feeling down again but yesterday, I forgot all these mid-life crisis problems and came out of the concert calm and serene. I can guess what Roger felt like when he had to chose between the fame of leading Supertramp and his family. The smile on his happy face last night convinced me that he made the right choice. I am only hoping one thing, which is to have the opportunity to see him in concert again. Yves |
Bye and thanks for this great moment. Ralph |
Hello ! I would like to tell you it was so nice so see Roger live on stage in Belgium. I went to see Supertramp for the first time in Liège at the Emulation back on the 28th February 1975 and then another time in 1976 or 1977. I'm still holding the 1975 concert ticket and the autographs of the band on the Crime Of The Century sticker! Best wishes, Stephan |
Very nice and amazing performance. My dad brought me there to show me another side of Music.... I've been amazed. I would have loved to ask you few words on writing an Album, but found no occasions. Dad and I are hoping you'll remind our small Country, blocked between France, Germany and Holland...making it so Intersting. But as always, Belgians are the best and probably the warmest of your public !... All the best and hoping to see you soon again ! Pierre and his Dad |
A great concert ! Thank you for your superb music and your humility. You are welcome in Belgium ! Marc |
Crato Reviews |
Thirty years ago, a small kid listened in awe to the cascading sounds of "Hide in your Shell", bouncing back and forth from the speakers of his primitive stereo. He was still a teenager in the early eighties, and couldn't make it for the Worl Tour '83. So when he found out that Roger would be playing for some 80 people in Madrid in July '97, he and his wife jumped in their car and raced 300 miles, arriving just in time to get an invitation and a glimpse of "The Logical Song" soundcheck. That concert, and meeting Roger, was a dream come true. So we couldn't miss this new "genuine opportunity", drove the 450 miles from Santander, and spent an unforgettable time at Crato's festival & fair. I didn't expect such a crowd, and was really pleased to check that Roger's amazing voice, musicianship and lovely personality appeal to an incredibly wider range of age, nationality and musical tastes. The concert for us was moving, to say the least, and the highlights were so many, that I'll only mention three: The audience's whistling on "Easy Does It"; the dedicatory to the local promoter on "Dreamer"; and a second encore! (The logical Song). You could almost touch the people's elation; I took some pics of the crowd from the first row and it was like watching a huge smile! I'll leave technical details and petitions for the next time -we're already looking forward to it- and just keep the emotions. See you soon, Rog. Pax & Ali |
Dear ROGER, Many thanks for the wonderful moments of great music you offered us at CRATO-Portugal passing on August 29 '06. The people cried with emotion... So, we hope to see upcoming CRATO´s DVD. Affectionately, Sónia |
A long time had passed since my last Roger´s concert. It was in Madrid, Spain, in a very small place called Arena. The year was 2000 and he was presenting in my city Open the door. I remember very well the concert and I remember too how shocked I feel when I saw him playing alone. At first it was such a strange sensation. Then I think it was one of the most intense and happiest times in my life..., till two days ago. From time to time I like to take a look at Roger´s page and see how things are. When I saw he was playing in Portugal with an orchestra I couldn´t believe it. I also remember one of Roger´s comments in Madrid concert about the song Open the door. He said something like "this song sounds incredible with an orchestra". They were more than 500 km. from my home but surely it would be worth it. And what’s more, this would be the occasion I was waiting a long time ago: to bring my son with me to see Roger. He couldn´t believe it when I told him we were going to see him. I´m 44 and he is 19 but he is as fan as I am. He plays Fool´s Overture in the piano since he was 14 and to see him play this song, along with many others, was going to be a dream come true. So I booked a hotel room near the place and there we go, the three of us..., even my wife, who has suffered a recent surgery in her back was coming too. We waited more than six hours to get a good seat but when the first chord of Take the long way home began every thing was forgiven. Roger went out with his white blouse and his black trousers as he sat in front of his keyboard. There was a little failure with the sound in the first seconds but from then all the songs sound perfect. It was more a Supertramp concert than a Roger one if we are talking about songs. Only three, Lovers in the wind, Only because of you and a new one, Oh brother!, were played from his own repertory which, of course, doesn´t mean anything. Everybody knows that all his Supertramp songs, though signed both for Roger and Rick Davies, were his. Anyway all the songs that everybody remembered were played, School, Give a Little bit, Breakfast in America, It´s raining again, Dreamer, most of them with the orchestra who perfomed them with all the professionalism that one can ask for. But there were songs played only by Roger and his guitar which made me think how good he is with just one instrument and his powerful, unmistakable and incredible voice. Even in the quietest moments and Easy does it were played this way. I missed Babaji, one of my wife´s preferred, which I have never heard live, nor even with Supertramp. My son would have liked to hear Open the door and Death and a Zoo, which are his favorites, but in the end all of us enjoyed an unforgettable night. Thank you Roger for having written the songs of my life. P.S. By the way..., if the Crato´s concert DVD is released soon...take a look at the boy with green T-Shirt in the crowd who is always cheering, waving, jumping and singing. It´s my son. Daniel |
Lisbon Reviews |
Dear Roger, My name is Paulo, I am 39 years old and I was one of the lucky ones at your show in Lisbon back in 31st of August! I´ve been in some music concerts in my life but I really think that you touched everyone's hearts your optimism that is always present in your songs! I really would like to thank you not only for your great show in here but also for the great music you gave the Humanity throughout the years. I wish you the best for both your personal and professional life and maybe I'm selfish but as a believer and as a catholic I pray that you will still give everyone lots of fine music in the future! Paulo |
I went to the concert in Lisbon, yesterday, and it was fantastic. Roger Hogson is, without a doubt, my favorite singer. Yesterday I could confirm the reason. I hope that he will come back again. Thank You, Cristina |
I saw the Lisbon concert yesterday an d it was simply... amazing! The quality of the Orquestra da Nova Harmonia with the beautiful voice of Roger gave us a memorable concert. I saw Supertramp in 1988 (Madrid), 1997 (Cascais) and 2000 (Lisbon) and I hear a couple of the Roger's songs by Mark Hart but I felt that something (everything) missing. Thank you Roger for the incredible moment! Rogério (Roger) Filipe |

Hello Roger, your concert in Lucerne was e little bit short, but one more time great, thank you very much - you were happy, we all too (I think you felt that). We saw us already last year on Mont Soleil, when me and my wife could come to you backstage after the concert. Now in Lucerne we sat and stood in the first row. You remember a little bit? Hey, we want invit you to our birthday party next summer (me and my wife we'll become 90 years old together), we'll pay your flight and all transfers, bed and breakfast... Okay? No, it's just a joke (or a big dream...). Have a good time and I hope to you and hear you soon again. You and your music - it's like the sun. Give a little bit... Let's send this song to Israel and Lebanon. Crazy world. |

It started perfectly when I arrived just in time you did the soundcheck- we waved, (the apple man Norbert Doerner & me) and you asked if were coming to the show. Norbert hopes that the CD (with computerstuff!) finnaly reached you. We gave it to some securety guy after the show. the concert was very emotional and beautiful. Dear Roger, My wife and I have been to your concert yesterday evening in Karlsruhe/Germany. We would like to thank you for an unforgetable evening which we enjoyed very much. The fact that you yourself are showing a great passion and pleasure in performing old and new songs is very important for me in the audience because that makes the difference between a good concert and a perfect one. Thank you!!! :-))) With compliments |
Hi, We had the oportunity to be there. and it was great. much better, than expected. a few years ago i have been at a supertramp concert, was sort of disappointed then, so i could not know what we will hear at your concert. and then... wow! Roger, Wonderful Show in Nakusp. And a great horn player you brought along. That venue with the Saddle Mountain Backdrop, Fresh Air, lush grass. Warm Temperature and your music of a lifetime made for a magical end to the Festival. Hope to see you back in our area again. Dan 'Dirtman', Power 104, Kelowna |

Just wanted to say, wow, super job! Roger just keeps getting better! Kathi |
Hi again, Roger. We're just into the house after your Nakusp show and Dave has put on the CD we purchased 'Open the Door.' I say 'hi again' because we were so pleased to be in the front row and felt your performance as personal. Thank-you! For your music, your thoughtful, heartfelt lyrics and simply for your gracious presence with us, young and old and in between. All the best to you in life. It's very late (way past my bedtime!!) but thought what the heck, why not let you know how much your presence is appreciated. Blessings and safe travels to you always. You are a beautiful minstrel, and we're fortunate to have "met" you! (Our 17 year old youngest child just walked in. His comment was he'd have paid double just to see your performance. Thank-you again, Roger Hodgson formerly of Supertramp!! Cheers. Sincere regards, |
Edmonton Reviews |
Hi Roger, I just returned from your show last night here in Edmonton and thouroughly enjoyed it!! Being a Supertramp fan for over thirty years and seeing most of your concerts here in the city I still find your music fresh and wonderful to this day. You are truly a musical genius and a joy to listen to. A performance in our concert hall with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra would be perfect next time! Thank you for sharing your music with us and we hope to see you back in Edmonton soon. Peace and Good Health to you Roger |
Thanks again for making time last night. It was a great show - yet again!! People's hearts were touched in many ways. I saw a rather large fellow in front of me wiping tears away during "Even In the Quietest Moments", along with so many other examples of joy, reflection, contemplation and nostalgia throughout the seats - with no respect to age!! Love your spirit... |
Saw you in Edmonton tonight. You are amazing. Had tears in my eyes for wellover half the show. I love the deep spirituality in all your songs and consider your music formative. Michael Sharp |
You were incredible. Loved Supertramp and you sounded even better tonight. You did not miss a beat. Please come back. |
Deerfoot Reviews |
It has been a couple weeks since I saw you during the Calgary Stampede at the outdoor concert at Fort Calgary. It was the most stunning musical performance I have ever seen and I have been thinking and talking about it ever since. I feel so privileged to have witnessed your amazing talents in such an initimate setting. Yes, it was a spiritual experience for me. I have been such a fan of all your hits and seeing Supertramp/Roger Hodgson in concert was always on my list...of course the band broke up before I had a chance. But this was more incredible. You were absolutely the headline act that night. Your perfect voice, your smile, your charm, the amazing band and those timeless, classic songs were the highlight of the evening and my summer. You were most definitely the heart of Supertramp and we are so lucky to have you touring solo now - to keep the music live and alive. Thanks for the memory and I hope to see you again one day. You are absolutely brilliant and one of the biggest treasures the musical world has ever seen! Mona |
WOW - My sincere thanks to Linda and Roger for the unforgetable, intimate concerts in Calgary two weeks ago at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. I only had tickets for one show but was treated so beautifully and allowed to watch Roger set up and rehearse (what a treat and my friends are sooo jealous), then he signed my cowboy hat so I decided to get a ticket for the Friday night show, 1st row seating again, then he gave me his guitar pic. Then I decided to drive to Edmonton a week later, seating 1st row again. Being uplifted by all his music all my life and not having seen him since the 80's what a beautiful experience. I have been to over 200 rock n roll concerts but never treated so wonderfully. Just found out he is playing in Ontario where I grew up for 30 years so a trip back home is now due with my new 4th row floors for the Oct 27th show at Casino Rama. Looking forward to seeing Roger and Linda in Ontario. Sincerely, |
Loved the concert in Calgary. Great to see Roger back in great form!!!! Have been a huge fan since the early 70's. Keep up the great work. Grew up on Roger's music and he and Supertramp have been my favorite musicians for over 35 years. Thanks for all the memories!! |
Just in case our grinning faces didn't tell you, we thoroughly enjoyed your recent shows in Calgary. Your songs are so wonderful, "Hide in Your Shell" has been my personal favourite since way back when. I was simply thrilled to hear it live. Thank you!!! Carol |
Hello Roger, I was part of the audience at the outdoor Roundup Party in Calgary, Canada last Wednesday where you were the 'mystery guest'. What an absolute pleasure and privilege it was to witness this performance. I have good memories of seeing Supertramp in concert several times in Vancouver back in the early 80s, but those memories have now been superseded by the memory of how you united that small group of corporate Calgary party goers. You look so beautiful and so at peace within yourself. It has been a long time since I sang along to those songs, yet I remembered all the words. And I was astounded at the spirituality within the lyrics — something I never appreciated 25-30 years ago. What a beautiful being you are. Thank you for sharing with the world. Namaste. |
Roger, we had a terrific time at your Calgary show thursday evening. You were spot on mate !!! Your voice is in wonderful shape and your piano, guitar sound was bloody brilliant. The songs really touched us and we were very happy to see you again.....thank you and we miss you already !! Cheers, |
I always wanted to see Rodger/Supertramp in concert. I recently moved to Calgary and was fortunate enough to finally have that chance.I have to say that Roger was awesome, well worth every cent to see live. It was the most enjoyable concert that I have been too. The early recordings he done with Supertramp brought me back in time when I was growing up listening to the group. I just want to say thanks again for a great show and come back soon. P.S. The only problem with the whole show was you left me wanting more. You could have played all night and nobody would have left. Thanks again, |
I would just like to tell Roger that I attended his show on Thursday night in Calgary at the Deerfoot Inn. It was beautiful. The sound was amazing, Roger's voice was perfect, and the performance was flawless. It really touched me. I am a forty-six year-old musician from the Calgary area and have seen most of the greats in my day, but I can't imagine anything topping this show for me. Your songs reach me in places that other songwriters can't get to. I had almost forgotten how wonderful your songs are. And it's not just nostalgia, as you said yourself last night — they have stood the test of time very well. Anyway, I don't write to fan sites, but I just wanted to thank you for giving me this opportunity to see you live. You are truly one of the finest composers and performers of the latter part of the twentieth century (and the beginning of the twenty-first). You made a lot of fortysomethings very happy last night. And I left the show a little tipsy and completely thrilled that I had seen one of the icons of my generation. Still in great form and still important to music. I can't imagine anything topping what I witnessed last night. So thank you again for providing me with this wonderful experience. And kudos to your sax player — he was fantastic. Man, what a gig for that guy! |
Roger, Just got back from your outdoor concert in Calgary. What an awesome show. Your voice is as strong as ever. Thanks again and congratulations on a tremendous show. Continued success and thanks for tonight! Hope to see you back in Calgary real soon Sincerely, |
Roger - you rocked Calgary! Man - to me you were the headliner at Fort Calgary's Stampede Roundup today. Those songs really brought back good memories. An thank you for your memories...age 17 and writing some of those songs...recording in LA a few years later ... awesome! |
Red Deer Reviews |
Roger, I drove from Calgary to see your show in Red Deer last night and was very glad I did. I thought you handled the somewhat rambunctious crowd very well and performed with a lot of professionalism and soul. Being a musician myself, I was already aware from your albums what an amazing genius you are and I was fortunate to witness you in action. You are one of the most gifted songwriters/musicians/arrangers/producers of our time and I sensed that the Red Deer crowd felt priviledged to have you perform for them. I suspect that many people are blown away by how many of their favorite songs you are responsible for. Thanks for all the inspiring songs over the years and thanks for a great evening! Best of luck in all of your future endeavors! Jeff Burns |
Thanks for comming to Red Deer, Alberta. The show was awesome! Fabulous job, I received the tickets on a spur of the moment, and I am very happy I did. Thanks again for a great night of music. |
just got home from concert in Red Deer AB best concert I have ever been to Wished it would have never ended Roger is awsom to the max Hope to see him again SOON |
Hi Roger, Thank you very much for coming to Red Deer and playing. The piano sounded like an orchestra tonight and your voice was top notch. (The sax player was perfect also.......good choice!) I don't really have anything brilliant or profound to say. I'm just very appreciative for the wonderful evening and grateful for your music. It's added to my life in one way or another for 40 years. Keep it up! Rod |
Just back from your concert in Red Deer. Thankyou. It was truly enjoyable and memorable. Carry on... |
Woodstock en Beauce Reviews |
My review for the "Woodstock en Beauce show" ? 2 words: Too short !!! Seriously, once again, you had the audience in your hands. You really are a gifted musician. The way you play that 12 strings guitar is just overwhelming ! It touches me each time! I have been fortunate to see you perform 3 time this year and each time is a happening. You know how to reach Quebecer's heart, and you don't even need a band to do it! I guess my luck is over for this year, but you are always welcome in our frenchie's province and all your fans in Quebec will patiently wait for your return. Can't wait for your DVD to come out! Waukesha Reviews |
Roger, As a career Supertramp fan who never got to see them play live, I was thrilled to see your "one-man show" in St. Paul. I sang along with every word of every song, remember? What a fabulous show! Congratulations on being back on the road and I hope you find your way back to Minnesota soon. Ill bring all my friends to sing along next time! JR |
Dear Roger, My wife and I saw you at Taste of Minnesota and really enjoyed the show. We were both amazed at what a full sound you generated with modest instrumentation. Your voice sounds clear as ever, too. I just read your biography and after learning of your struggles to recover from the wrist injuries, your playing is all the more impressive. There is hope and optimism in your songs that I appreciate now more than ever. I hope you return to Minnesota soon. You made a lot of people smile. Dan |
I just wanted to say thanks. I was at the St. Paul, MN show last Sunday and I must say I very, very much enjoyed it. Roger played a new song he said he had not recorded yet; I think it is some of his finest work -- please record! I have always been a big fan, but was too young to see a Supertramp show, so Sunday was a big treat and I brought my kids because I did not want them to miss you like I did. They have been singing Give a Little Bit all the time now. For me it was Lord Is It Mine and Even in the Quietest Moments back-to-back -- it did bring a tear. But thank you and press on. |
Roger - You are terrific in any kind of weather. We saw you in Milwaukee last month where the temperature was so unusually cold, we could see you breath as you were singing, and now in Minnesota were it was 90+ degrees. Both performances were exceptional. To say that we are fans is an understatement. My wife and I have seen you perform 4 times in the last two years (we saw two of your shows last year with the orchestra in Canada). It is such a joy for us to hear you sing. The Minnesota concert was extra special as well, as our two young children (Carter, age 5 and Kennan, age 2) were able to see you perform for the very first time. It was wonderful. Thank you for such a special performance and best of wishes to you! Joe, Jodi, Carter, and Kennan |
Roger! Wow! You never cease to amaze me - what a fabulous performance! I swear you keep getting better and better every time I see you! Beautiful weather, beautiful night, beautiful music, beautiful man. Much love, |
Hi Roger, I cannot begin to tell you how much i think you're AMAZING. The concert in Montreal was absolutly the BEST!!!! I 'll be the first to buy the DVD , i just can't wait for it to come out.You have such an extraordinary lovable soul and since i've seen your show, you made me want to take piano lessons so i could play your songs, for the first time in my life ,I'll feel whole. You have no idea how i feel inside when i hear you sing, nothing else matters at that moment.Thank you a million times for being who you are. You're the best!!!! Take care of yourself ,we need you around for a long time. Your fan forever and ever ...... |
Dear Roger, I hope this goes straight to u in person because I want you to know that you have got to finish that song that you said that are missing some words to it.But what when I herd it...I t made me have very strong goose feelings in my head. And I was thinking to my self....Hes got to finish that song. Its such a powerful song.I wanted to shout to you that you need to finish that song but I had my freind right up in front of me and I didnt want to hurt his ears.So I was trying to get in between him so I could tell you.Man Roger...that is such a powerful song...You do indeed have a gift of writing songs.I would like to hear that song in person when you finish it.It made me have tears coming down my face.I was so moved by that song.I really wish I would have been able to say that to you in person. By the way.You have such the neatest smile.I could tell you have a very warm heart by just seeing you.Can you make it possible to hear your song in person that you havent finished yet. What made it even more powerful that you were playing it on the piano. The Piano is my favorite instrument. Please Roger ...will you make it possible to hear you play the song in person.I would really appreaciate it..That would be a really nice birthday present ,To hear you finish that song. I want to thank you for coming to the taste of Minnesota.I really enjoyed listening and watching you smile at us. Love, |
It was to my surprise that you were at Taste of Minnesota! I did not look to see who was on stage there but just showed up for the events and happen to come across you on stage almost finished. I did get to see you do the last few songs and wished I could have seen the whole thing! I have been a fan for years, you have such a wonderful talent. Thanks for coming to Minnesota to do the show, it was wonderful to see you there. I hope you enjoyed your stay and were able to try some good food at the Taste of MN. Please keep up the work you are doing. Larry |
Roger, You are one of the best ever, fantastic, should be considered one of the greatest with John Lennon, Paul McCartny, Elvis, Bob Dylan. request: the world needs help, could you write and sing some peace and love songs? perform them to a worldwide audience on fox news and cnn? "give a little bit" is a good peace song. Thanks. |
Roger, Thank you for considering returning to do a show in the Milwaukee area. I was at the show last year. That was by far the best show I have seen in a long time. I enjoyed hearing "Lovers in the wind" and "Lord Is It Mine". They are personal favorites of mine. I do look forward to this years show. Even more so because I am bringing someone special along. After I met her I made her a CD of various songs. When ³Lord is it Mine² came on she started singing along. That song never had been played on the radio and I was happy to find out that song was a favorite of hers as well. I do hope it¹s on the set list this year. Keep up the good work. Your music is an inspiration and brings a lot of happiness to people. Scott Scherer |
Dear Roger, When I was 14 years old, I saw my first concert - Supertramp. It was 1978 and I took a bus downtown by myself to see you. Over the next few years, I came to see you five times, everytime you were in Wisconsin I would be there. Unfortunately I was unable to attend your show in Waukesha last year. Imagine my happiness when I heard you would be returning this year! It was a wonderful show. I loved every minute of it. It brought back so many memories for me, you cannot imagine. You sounded better than ever. Thank you. Thank you for coming to our little part of the world. It means a lot. I hope to see you again sometime soon. Love to you and your family, |
Hi Roger, We just wanted to thank you and Mr McDonald for a GREAT PERFORMANCE at The Taste of Minnesota, Sunday evening 02 JUL 06. Your vocals are simply incredible, and we were so very please to hear your 12 string acoustics live!! Thank you also for sharing Even in the Quietest Moments to your play list, my personal favorite, as is the album - my first album purchase in 1977!!! Your latest song is sure to be a GREAT HIT for you as it truly expresses thoughtful lyrics and melody, while showcasing your incredible vocal instrument. I hope you enjoy the rest of your tour schedule as much as Suzanne and I did last evening. With kindest regards, |
Roger, Just wanted you to know that my wife and I enjoyed the intimate setting/gig tonight on the waters of the Missisippi in St. Paul - great to see you still enjoy playing & "giving a little bit" to everyone . I see by your tour schedule you are busy; hope to see you again in Minnesota. Jim & Theresa Trollen |
Hello Roger, My name is Chris (male), and I think I just scored you several new fans. Many years ago, when Supertramp lost the most artistic member of the band(that would be you), Millions of fans waited in awe to see what would happen next. A short time passed, when I read that you had a new record out(you know those vinyl discs that play on a phonograph, until they wear out and we replace them). I was very pleased and even a little giddy, to here such great news. I ran out and purchased "Eye Of The Storm", and being a musician myself(drums, piano/keyboards, and a little lyric writing) listened to that record until the needle on my $150 turntable litterally fell off. I was forced to purchase both a new stylus, and "Eye Of The Storm" album. I really liked the title track, and began picking it apart on the piano. eventually I got it down to the point that I felt confident enough to perform it on stage. It was a great success, and I won the talent show that I had entered. Now...Let's teleport to 2006. When I heard that you where going to be at the Budweiser fair thing at Waukesha County Fair, I ran out and bought 4 tickets. This was enough for my wife, two sons, and myself. when I got home I was informed that my wife had a meeting to attend that day, and my 20 year old son had to work. So I told my 17 year old son to invite two of his friends. I played your CD for them, as well as the older 'Tramp stuff, and all agreed that this would be a great show to see. We came(The four of us that is), saw, sang, cheered, and had a great time. Thank you for an awesome show. By the way, I had a discussion with the kids, and explained to them that, "the best way to judge a band and vocalist, is by their accuracy to their recorded material." You sir where right on, all night long. I was also impressed that without traditional accompanyment, you had the audiance in the palm of your hand all night. BRAVO!!! Encore, Encore. The kids all agreed that they would all purchase your music, and watch for your return. Thank you again. Regards, |
Hi Roger, I want to thank you for the wonderful time both myself and wife had on June 9, 2006 watching you perform in Waukesha Wisconsin at the ³A Taste of Summer Festival². I have always enjoyed your music and especially your choice of lyrics. I know that you have a good hart and I greatly appreciate the fact that I can share your music with my children. I would very much appreciate seeing you again and hope you return to Wisconsin soon or some were close in the USA. Thanks for the memories, |
I just wanted to say a very special thanks to Roger for coming to the Milwaukee area....and I hope he comes back very soon. The Unplugged show really magnifies how incredible a talent you really are. I brought a friend who originally was not too crazy about going and he was blow away....you won a fan! Sister Moonshine won him over. Your songs dig deep into my soul....thanks again!! ... |
Friday night 6/9/06 I had the opportunity to see you play Waukesha's "Taste of Summer", which unfortunately, would've been more aptly named "Taste of Winter". I have to tell you; I thought the show was going to be indoors so I only wore a t-shirt. I had never seen yourself, or Supertramp, despite being a fan of both. I was amazed at your ability to solely create as much sound, melody, and music in showcasing your music. I have been to, literally, hundreds of shows over the years, several of which have been solo. Hands down, your performance was the best solo show I've ever seen. I completely forgot it was cold out, and since I don't drink, I didn't even have that to keep me warm. Kudos to you! You have made a fan and friend for life. My only regret was that my wife wasn't there to enjoy it. She had to stay home with our new baby. I will get a sitter next time you come. F.Y.I. "Northern Lights Casino" in Potowatomi Bingo-Milwaukee would be a perfect fit for you, in terms of being a great place for an intimate evening with your fans. Although, if I can get as much enjoyment as I did from seeing you from the back of a cold rainy tent, anyplace would obviously suffice. I hope to see you again. Thanks for the great time-I will be purchasing all of your solo work, in short order. Cheers, |
Enjoyed your solo show for the second time in Waukesha, Wisconsin. I truely enjoy your voice. You are simply beautiful. Last year I was in the third row and this year second row center. It was wounderful to hear your new songs and they sound great. To listen to you sing was great. Hope that you will return to Waukesha again. I would love to hear you play with full symphony orchestra. You are truly beautiful. Thank you for your solo here. Sincerely, |
Roger, Wow.. I'm at a loss for words right now. The show was absolutely wonderful - the best by far. Despite the cold temperatures, you managed to warm us all up from the inside out. I also want to thank you for taking the time to see Zoe and myself - I know time was of the essence, but you made our night. By the way, her favorite children's song may be "Sunflower Seeds," but her favorite song of yours is "Give a Little Bit." She was so happy when you played it twice, and she sung along with you both times! Much Love, |
Roger, we saw you perform in Waukesha last night and want to say thank you so much for taking the time to come to Wisconsin and share your music with us -- what a wonderful treat! We enjoyed your show and hearing your beautiful catalog of music. However, it was more than just a treat for us. It was truly special to see you live since we regularly listen to your music - both solo and group. You mentioned last night that you feel "Hide in Your Shell" stands the test of time. That humble acknowlegment is so true for not only that song, but for so many others as well. Your talent as a song writer and performer must be steeped in your being since what we experienced at your show last evening is every bit as beautiful and energizing as the recordings we have. We hope your days are happy ones, and you are enjoying living life and sharing your wonderful music around the globe. This is to let you know how much enjoyment your special gifts and amazing talent have brought to us. Your songs bring back so many wonderful memories and we look forward to new memories with any releases you publish in the future. We greatly anticipate to your return to "this side of the pond" if it should work out for you again this year or the next. And in the interim, we plan on checking your web site regularly for tour updates and news of any new releases. So again, thank you. We wish you the best of luck with everything and please come back again! Doug & TJ |
Hello Mr Hodgson, I just wanted to drop a line to say thank you for performing June 9th at A TASTE OF SUMMER in Waukesha WI, USA. The blend of solo songs and Supertramp releases was perfect. The highlight of the evening, for me, came near the end when you told the audience you didn¹t want to stop quite yet and asked for requests. I recall you laughingly took the request of ŒFool¹s Overture¹ and remarked how you hadn¹t played that one for a long time. WellŠ as you saw we loved it. Again thank you for totally enjoyable evening. Andrew Delzer |
All I can say is WOW. I went to Taste of Summer Concert in 2005 and I thought it was a great concert. Going into this years concert I figured it was going to as good as last years concert ... boy was I wrong. It was even better than last year, not one low point in the concert. It was just one great song after another, what a set list. This has got to be the best concert I will see again this year. Already can't wait for Taste of Summer 2007. Thanks for a great evening. |
Montreal Reviews |
saw your concert in montreal in june and i thought you should know you're amazing! Just so you know you've reached out to me.. i'm only 15 and im in love with your music. Cory |
Dear Roger, If I have, once in my life, the chance to send you a message, I won't miss that opportunity! I just want to thank you for the great show in Montreal on June 6th and for all the melodies you created and that touched my ears, my heart and my soul throughout the years. Thanks to my older brother, I've listened to your music since I was a young boy. And at age 13, he brought me to the Montreal Forum where you were doing the first of three nights there. This was my first rock show and a tremendous experience. As a teenager, me and my friend Christian were of a rare breed, listening to Supertramp and Roger Hodgson instead of Madonna, Metallica or Duran Duran. It even was my trademark as people related last automn our college reunion. And of course, you're music accompanied me for years into adulthood. My 11 years old boy always take the Breakfast in America CD when we go on a trip and we share great father-son moments when he sings The Logical Song in such an aweful way... (with the french accent and all). Perhaps you sometimes wonder why you're doing all this, this new tour, the travelling, the coming recording (I hope...), far from your family and friends. You see, I have a second son now (who's 2 years old), from a second woman, and that second relationship also failed recently. I think I'm a great dad and it pains me a lot to be separated from my sons. And all this is happening as I have less than one year to complete my Ph.D. thesis (in theology... hmmm, some singer may have opened my mind to spiritual matters at a young age...). So, hey, that's a tough time for me. But when my friend Christian came to pick me up on the night of the show, it was all smiles and laughs. We had a great time at the show and when you sang that my life had to be a catastrophe for me to grow, I knew just how right you were. I know I can't imagine how hard the life on the road must be, but you are certainly making a lot of people happy with this tour. On June 6th, the theatre was filled with many very happy Montrealers and with at least one guy whose spirit soared to your great music. Thanks for all Roger, thanks for your great music and
inspiring words, it will always be deeply rooted in my heart, |
WOW! Your show was most definitely the best I have ever been to (not that I have been to many, reason being that I am very selective and poor...) What an honour for us, Montrealers, to be there and be part of your first SOLO DVD RECORDING! You still got it!!! And you seem to be a real warm and caring person. GIVE A LITTLE BIT is a perfect song to get people to care and give to help. We need more nice people like you to better our planet. Wishing you all the best. Keep on rocking! |
Bonjour, It was a night full of magic. Every song was melodious. Roger had a very good sense of humour and charism. As he said, he enjoyed to play music more than in the past and it is totally true. He seems free to enjoy playing music whatever he likes. Please make sure that he is always welcome to go to Montreal anytime and see his fans who love him. Why does not he want to stay in Montreal (Montreal has european style and full of fans like me who discovered the progressive rock from 70's, a great decade). I am 35, and Breakfast in America was my first record that I bought when I was teenager. At this time, I was worry to not be old enough to attend any concert of Supertramp in 70's. If I met Roger, I would ask him How is it possible for a modern composer to write songs and music that have a so authentic sound. His new songs are still so rich and melodious even more that his earlier songs. That's why I know, his songs will never die and almost all of his songs became real classics that radio CHOM 97.7 FM play again and again specially on weekends during classic rock festival. I will never get tired of listening to his music with Supertramp or Roger in solo. I can say that Roger Hodgson is a genious composer, a Mozart in the modern time. Merci beaucoup pour me donner la chance d'exprimer mes émotions. Bravo pour Roger et toute son équipe, I hope to see next Roger's concert. Pour Roger, il ne faut pas qu'il lache la patate (_expression du Quebec), bravo, continue, c'est formidable. Daniel Cloutier |
Mr. Hodgson, The show was just great!! Your «babies» have grown up like a good wine and thank you for presented almost all of your family!! You really seemed happy to give us them, with love, sincerity and humor. Incidentally, your voice is better than ever and listening to you playing 12 strings and piano sounds heaven to my ears. The simplicity of your performance allowed me to appreciate your songs even more. I really enjoyed the complicity of your friend (on wind instruments) too. In summary, I rediscovered an improved version of Roger Hodgson and his songs... in better of course for both of them!! I appreciated this show enough to remember it for the rest of my life. Thank you Mr. Hodgson, hoping see you again in Montréal... Sylvain Dickey |
Thanks for a very magical night. A troubadour-poet has given us a night to remember. This was the best show I have seen in years. Roger Hodgson has shown us again is talent, respect and devotion to his art. I hope he comes back soon. Serge L. |
We spent quite a night my lover and I on June 6th at Place des Arts. He (his name is Roger too) has been a Supertramp fan since their debut. He saw them in Montreal two nights in a row at the old Jarry stadium in the late seventies. Their was no way we could have missed Mr Hudgson’s solo concert. It brought us back more than two decades ago with so many beautiful memories and such great music. The sound and the emotion were the same. Mr Hodgson is a great man. We love his simplicity, his way of connecting with the audience. His music is brilliant and intellectually profound. This concert was pure magic! Thank you Sir for sharing with us your incredible talent, your sense of humour and your love of music. We certainly hope we will get to see you again in Montreal soon. The waiting was too long!!! Sincerely, |
I would like to say that the Roger Hodgson concert was everything I had expected it to be and more! I will never forget that night! I am 19 years old and that was the first concert I had ever been to... simply because I had never had the money, and so i wanted to make any concert I go to worth while, and it definetely was. The atmosphere of the entire audience and show was simply euphoric and I had an amazing time! Thanks to Roger and everyone who helped put on this mind-blowing show that will always be in my heart. Katherine |
I'm 18 years old, and being a lover of classic tunes like Supertramp's, I was absolutely blown away by the concert. It was amazing and a night that I will think of dearly for the rest of my life. Thank you! |
Hello Mr. Hodgson, I just wanted to thank you for a great evening of classic music. I was hooked on your voice from the first time I played my first album "Breakfast in Amarica". You're in great form, I hope we don't have to wait too long before seeing back in Montreal. ... |
My wife and I would like to thank Mr. Hodgson for the marvelous evening, without a doubt, unforgettable. It was the best show we’ve ever seen. The room was delirious with joy. His voice brought us back to our teen years and reminded us of some great memories. We are proud to have participated in his DVD which we’re sure will be a huge success. We’re anxiously awaiting it. Georges Pertot |
We were only 14 and 16 when we heard Supertramp for the first time. We were really impressed with the quality of the sound and the ambiance of the room, but mostly with the vocal and instrumental virtuosity of Roger Hodgson. Thanks for this trip down memory lane. Sylvie & Alain |
Wow, superb show. I felt like I was in my living room with a musician friend. Excellent relationship with the public. Intimate setting. Can’t say more. Thanks for this great evening. Stephan Reault |
Dear Roger (and team, of course), I had the chance to see your concert con June 6th, and it really was a dream come true. I was around eight years old when I fell in love with your music, and I never stopped listening to Supertramp (and some of your solo work available in Canada) since then. Now if I told you I am only 15 years old, would you believe it? If I told you my girlfriend (who saw the concert with me) was jealous because I couldn't stop talking about you for about two weeks? Yes, all of this is true. But the point of a review being to review the show and not the author's life... Marvelous. I couldn't take my eyes off you (even if the spotlights aimed directly to our section), and even now, some tears manage to fall when I hear Give a little bit, because of the memory they remind me... You were wonderful! And when you're up on the stage, it's so unbelievable, unforgettable, how they adore you... With all my love, and hoping you will come back soon in
Montréal, |
hi,my name is yves perreault and i saw the show at place des arts at montreal. wow !! it s the great plesure to see you on stage and you cam be sure , i want this dvd!!!i saw all your show from 1977 at montreal and eacth time is super. Yves |
Roger, Thankyou for signing my cd's from the concert in London Ontario. Peter Brennon is a friend of mine as I used to work with orchestra london It was a fantastic performance, my wife and I enjoyed it very much. I hope to see more recordings from you in the future. Best regards |
Hi Roger, I just can't stop thinking of the concert at Place-des-Arts, Montreal.I can't wait for the DVD to come out,it was an amazing performance.Your voice moves my heart in so many ways,it's like i'm constantly in love...Your music makes me happy when i'm down and your new song is wonderfull.I thank god there is someone like you on this earth that makes magic through your songs.Thank you for being you, thank you for making me so happy.Hope to see you soon in Montreal again and hopefully my dream will come true and i'll meet you some day. Take care of yourself,we need you around for a long time.. Your fan forever, |
The concert was absolutely amazing. Roger is an outstanding performing artist. I was brought back to the first concert I attending as a young teenager at Jarry Park ...... hearing that familiar voice and familiar lyrics was rejuvenating. Roger's solo and new material is fantastic . Finding out at the open of the concert that Montreal was paid the honour of having the DVD shot here is very special to me as a fan and to many I am sure. The music along with the light show was spectacular, even tho at times, especially during "Lord is it mine" my eyes were closed and I became overwhelmed with tears due to circumstances in my life. I dedicate this particular song to a 38 year old friend of mine, Roberto Martins, battling his life to ALS. My only wish was that he would have been well enough to sit amongs us on Tuesday night, it would have made him so happy as he is quite a fan of Roger Hodgson. Two thumbs up from me!!!! Gina Di Salvio |
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed Roger's show. I cannot wait to buy the DVD. Crime of the Century was a watershed event in 1974. I was 13 and the entire summer this album marked a turning point in the music my generation listened to and how we perceived music. Please pass on to Roger a comment I made to many in my 20's when asked, if there was just 1 album I could take with me in moving permanently to a desert island or any place there was no return from, which album would it be.......my answer...Crime of the Century by Supertramp with the piercing, provocative and haunting voice of Roger Hodgson. One earmark of a watershed album is the ability to listen to it repeatedly without losing any of the sensory experience. Crime is 1 of the few albums that accomplishes this. In my opinion the only other artists/albums that approach my deep affinity for Crime of the Century are: Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon and Genesis, Wind and Wuthering. The Place Des Arts event demonstrated to me beyond a doubt that a true musician can fill the stage without elaborate band backup. Roger and his companion on the sax were able to fill the hall with rich sound beyond their complement. What a truly unique experience it was to watch 2 men captivate an entire audience. Montreal was one of the first cities to recognize Supertramp and Roger for their brilliance. By the audience reaction on Tuesday night, we can all see why Montreal holds a special place for Roger and vice versa. The crowd was ecstatic. They were electric. I have been attending events for decades and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, I have never seen an audience so excited and euphoric. My thanks again to Roger and his entire entourage for putting together an exceptional show which I will remember always and have a chance to share with my kids once the DVD is released. Stephen |
This had to have been one of the best concerts I have been to in a long time. When my 14 year old son, Alex, first heard on CHOM that Roger Hodgson was coming to Montreal his first reaction was 'we gotta get tickets!' We did and it was a night we will all remember. Alex's first concert was RUSH and since then he's been to 5 other concerts and for him Rush and Roger Hodgson were the 2 best concerts he's been to (even beat out the Rolling Stones!!!) If Mr.Hodgson is ever back in Montreal we will definitely be first in line. tks again for the memories! |
Merci encore! |
Great concert and thanks for the follow up. It brought me back to the 70’s shows at jarry park. Sheldon |
I really enjoyed the show! I am glad to hear that the DVD will be available in August. I am looking forward to get it. My two children (14 and 18) also enjoyed the show. I am lucky to be able to share Roger's music with them. Many thanks to Roger. Merci beaucoup beaucoup! Best regards, |
I went to see the concert with 7 people and everyone loved it including myself. The concert was great and Roger Hodgson was as personable as usual and one of my all time favorite performers. His voice is exceptional and crisp even after all these years. The first time I saw Supertramp was in 1977 at Jarry Park in MTL and I have never missed a show in MTL, including the one at the Spectrum about 3 or 4 years ago and I must admit that that show was one of my favorite shows that Roger has ever performed. I look forward to the DVD and will definitely purchase it. I also look forward to the next concert in MTL or anywhere in Quebec. Sandy |
All I have to say is WOW!!!!!! It was truly a magical night....one that I will remember for a very very long time. I am looking forward to the DVD release. Thanks, |
I would just like to say that we thoroughly loved this concert. We recently attended another solo concert at the Place des Arts, which we also greatly enjoyed. This particular performer put on a grandiose show, whereas we found the evening with Roger Hodgson to be quite the opposite; entertaining in a very intimate atmosphere. His direct rapport with the audience and the fact that he was alone save for Aaron was spectacular. Roger still has the most unmistakable voice, and seeing him again brings back very fond memories of Jarry Park and the '80's. Sometimes I wish I had never grown up; as I have continued to listen to the music of Supertramp over the years. Thank you Roger for a most memorable, enjoyable show. Always a fan, |
How did we like the show??? Well, let me see, wonderful..exciting..beyond expectations..satisfying...emotional, and so very much more. My wife and I are huge Hodgson fans, he is a true musical master. He is a not simply a great song writer, an astounding pianist, an awesome guitarist, he is a humble man that emits his love for music with every smile. The show was more than we had hoped and all that we knew he could make it. Sincerly, P.S. The Sax player...the young Mr.McDonald...a real treat. |
What a wonderful night. That brought me through memory lane and back. I saw the famous last word concert in 1983 and i bought the poster with the tight rope walker that i had laminated. I would have loved for Roger to sign this poster...but being 4 feet by 3 it would have been a little complicated (laugh). I can't wait for the DVD to come out. I am going to purchase it and watch it over and over again. Thanks again Roger for a wonderful evening :o) Sylvie |
This has to be one of the best and "magical" nights I've ever experienced for a concert. I've seen a ton of them in my 48 years, but this was more because of my 16 year old son. Since the first time I introduced him to Roger Hodgson & Supertramp he plays their cd's religiously! To watch his face, as Roger preformed his songs, flaw-less I might say, was priceless! The night brought me back to the first time I saw Supertramp in Montreal back a ways, I might say, at the University De Montreal. The taste of deja-vu was never finer! I wish I was close enough to shake his hand and thank him for the timeless pieces of music he's given me and thus inherited today by my son to pass on, hopefully to his son or daughter. Thank you. Rick Antoniewicz |
My daughter and I really appreciated the show. It’s marvelous that my 10 year old daughter danses to the music that I grew up with. Thanks to Roger and to the organizers of this show for allowing us to live such great moments. Michel Duval |
Dear Roger, My name is Alexander and i'm now 34 years old. i think i.ve been listenig to Supertramp all my life! Even my mother made me listen to you when i was in her belly!!!! i was there at Parc Jarry a couple of years ago when you guys came.......i think i was 4 years old or so!!!! Let me tell you that when i listen to your music, it reaches me so much it's incredible. Like i said before, i've been listening to Supertramp all my life and you can be assured that i'm gonna die listening to you. i cannot explain it but for me, to see your show was one of the best moment in my life. i could'nt beleive that your wher actually in front of me! I even had a dream that night that we where talking like 2 buddy's on the phone about your show!....men that was funny! i dont know why but your music is a part of me and will remain that way for always. the music, the lyrics, everything you created is so magical. If i can, you can be sure that i will be there for all your next shows in Quebec. Roger, i just want to finish my message by telling you that you are a great artist/musician (maybe the greatest for me) and i will share all your great work with my 4 childrens so they can enjoy your melodies like i do. by the way, your new song is wonderfull. please record it! Have a great world tour my friend and hope to see you soon. Bye, |
Thank you Roger, for a wonderful evening at Place des Arts on June 6th. It was truly a memorable show. I felt the same emotions at your show as I did when I followed Supertramp. I really hope to see and hear you again. A thousand times....thank you ! Daniel Di Nardo |
I had the pleasure of attending your concert this evening in Montreal. The last time that I heard your voice live was in 1978, at Jarry Park. Unfortunately, back then, I couldn't afford the tickets ( I was only 17 ) so I sat outside, on the grass and listened and tried to picture how it must have looked from the inside. Tonight, however, I saw and heard everything, and your music still moves me, the lyrics are pure poetry. I love to watch your hands when you play the piano, and the guitar. You make it seem so easy. It makes me want to learn to play. I want to thank you for all the years of pleasure that your music has provided me, after tonight I know that there is more to come. Roseann |
Hi Roger, THANK YOU for such a wonderful concert last night. It was an amazing experience, as always. I took my eldest (now young adult) daughter, who I used to rock to sleep listening to Supertramp. She LOVED the show too. Thank you also for performing my all-time favorite Give A Little Bit, twice. I can't wait for the DVD to come out. Hope you'll be back again soon. Love and Light,Lesley |
Hello, I just want to thank Roger for the absolute divine evening he shared with us yesterday in Montreal at the Place des Arts. I saw him a few years ago with Ringo Starr (also in Montreal) and I thought then that I was given a very rare privilege when he sang Give a Little Bit, Logical Song and The Long Way Home. I never thought I would see him performing on stage like yesterday. For me it was a dream come true. Now I can't wait to watch the DVD that will be released from this unforgettable evening. Thank you, Roger! Thank you, thank you, thank you !!! |
Kitchener/London Reviews |
Dear Roger, I have been A die hard fan of Supertramp's music for over twenty years now. I never imagined that in 2002 I would actually go to a Supertramp concert at Walkerton Ontario Canada. I was to young back in the early 1980's to actually go to a concert when you were still together. I loved the concert in 2002 but it would have been twice as good with you there. Well I took my Wife and two young children to see you in Kitchener on June 1st 2006 and we totally loved hearing you sing and play your beautiful music that has touched so many people for so many years. I just wanted to thank you for still touring and being able to see you live and your voice is still the same as it was thirty six years ago. Thank you again. Sincerely yours, |
Roger, Hi Roger I just wanted to say thanks for bring back the memories of my chidhood. I listened to your music when I was a teen and have always loved it. When I had the opertunity to come and seee you in Kithchener Ontario I could not resist. I was very taken on how my emotions came back as if it were hearing you yesterday. I hope you come back to this area, there was a lot of people that did not know you were here and would have loved to hear you. I would like to take my son to see you sing. The last time I saw Supertramp play was your last concert at Maple Leaf Gardens. I still have the ticket! Thanks for waking up my memories to how much I enjoy listening to you. Music is the only place in the world were you can find everyone at peace! Kerry Weaver : |
What a great evening that we have spend my husband and I at La Place des Arts yesterday night. What great memories that all the songs brought to us. Suddenly, all the audience was 17 years old again, and some of the fans acted like teenagers again. Thanks for this great show. You still have your great voice, and the songs that you played are timeless. We are lucky in Montreal, we will be able to see this show again on DVD in autumn. Thanks a lot for this perticular show and for all those years of marvelous music. Sincerly from Sylvie |
Earlier in June, my wife and I saw you in concert in Kitchener Ontario, Canada. I have to tell you, it was like going into a time warp as I had seen Supertramp in concert in Toronto I'm guessing late 70's early 80's. I think you voice has actually gotten better and the concert in June was nothing short of awesome. I am about to retire from the Police Service in Toronto and if you are ever back this way again, a few of us jam around a campfire at night and are always looking for another who enjoys getting away from the world. Again thanks for the music. Alan & Sybil Parks |
Dear Roger, Thank You for filling my soul on friday night June 2nd 2006 in London, Ontario Canada. That night was the highlight of my year! It was a dream come true to listen to you sing all of my absolute favourite songs live in person!!!! Your voice and skills are still the perfection they were when I first listened to Supertramp as a struggling 14 year old.(28 years ago) Your music will last forever as it nurtures anyone who listens. Thank You for giving us the gift of your spirit in little London, Ontario, Canada. It was an honour to be in your presence! THANK YOU. Love Pauline. A listening fan yesterday, today, tomorrow. |
Hello Roger! Thank you so much for making my dreams come true! My first concert ever was the recent orchestra london performance, on June/2/2006. It was truly amazing! I loved the song "keep the pigeons warm". I wanted to thank you for being such an great performer and for being so dedicated to your fans (like me!!!) all my life I've wished I would be able to meet you, it was even my #2 thing on my life to do list and I would sincerly like to thank you for making it happen! you were everything I expected you to be like and more! thank you for coming around for the autograph, and for the hug! it truly changed my life! yours truly, |
Roger, I met you after the show in Kitchener on May 31st. I had driven in from Buffalo, NY with my buddy Todd(who drove in from CT). Todd was the one who had the picture of him playing drums with you at a show you did in Buffalo years ago. Anyway just wanted to tell you it was a great show and I would love if you could try to set a date to get back to Buffalo. I think that you playing with the Buffalo Philharmonic would be another great show. I know some people there, maybe I could help you make the connection. Anyway, best of luck with the rest of your concerts. Thanks again, |
Hello Roger, caught your performance June 1 2006, all I can say is fantastic, you and the KW Symphony were on fire. Loved the versions of School and Child of Vision, I haven't heard those songs live in at least 25 years. All I can say is thank you Roger, and please come back again. Peace Roger. |
Hi Roger, What an excellent concert and hope you come back to Kitchener again. Since you left Supertramp your voice, keyboards, guitar and song writing has never diminished at all.. What a great concert and good sound, amazing! The Kitchener( Centre of the Square) concert was one of the best concerts I've heard from a prog fan who like bands of Camel, IQ, Pendragon, Stackridge, Pallas, Glass Hammer, Genesis, Yes, Greenslade,Rpwl, Kayak. Camel my favourite and love Andy Latimer's guitar playing very much and regard him one of the best in the class.. You are such a talented performer and hope you continue and don't change your style.. You seem more like Supertramp on your solo's than Supretramp do.. Closing my eyes at the concert sounded better than the original.. Loved Dreamer and Fools Overture, stunning.. Cheers, |
Dear Roger: Thank you so very much for your gracing us with your music up in these parts of the forest again. Your show this evening was magical. I feel rejuvenated once more. Music truly is good for the soul but no others can deliver it quite like you. And through it all you stand there in what seems to be true disbelief that we love you so much up here in Canada. And it seems like you who is in awe of us. Part of the feeling of well being or happiness I get is from seeing the crowd's reaction to you. There is never such a geniune outpouring from audiences for any of the shows I go to. There is the usual cheering and excitedness, but your shows are different, you can feel the mutual admiration and geniune appreciation from both sides. It is just plain wonderful. Sorry I tend to gush a little after one of your shows. But once again I do thank you and hope to see you up in these parts soon. Someone told me this evening that you were a little concerned about the show and how it would go. I hope this helps. Valerie Macklin |
Dear Roger, My 12 year old son Connor and I met you back stage at Centre In The Square, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada last night. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to speak with him and encourage him with his music, more specifically his piano. You actually deserve a lot of the credit for how well he is doing. I took him to see you the 1st time you came and he became so excited about your music that he bought all the sheet music of your songs he could find and can now play most. It has also rejuvinated his excitement for the instrument beyond his required lesson material. He very recently won 2006 Most Promising Junior Talent: Piano at the annual Kitchener/Waterloo/Stratford Kiwanis music competition. We were all very thrilled with your performance last night and Connor is just beside himself having met you and hearing your kind words of encouragement. I would guess that he is one of your biggest 12 year old fans and will continue to introduce your music and talent to his peers and his generation. I hope this message will actually get to you....we are very thankful and wish you many more years of inspiration, song and music. Jim O'Kane |
I just saw Roger perform with the Kitchener-Waterloo symphony orchestra and the Jeans and Classics Band and it was fantastic. Back in the '70s and early '80s I went to just about every Supertramp concert when they played Toronto. Right from the Massey Hall days to their multi-concert series at Maple Leaf Gardens. I have all of their albums on vinyl (which I am now preserving) and am currently on my 4th set of CD's. It was very special to see Roger in such an intimate setting. He looks spectacular and his voice is as magical as ever. It was the hilight show of the year for me. The orchestra and the band were spot on and everyone on stage seemed to be having an immensely good time. Come back to Canada and K-W soon again Roger. We love you. p.s. If there was such a thing I would nominate Roger for an honorary Canadian citizenship. As far as I know Nelson Mandela and Winston Churchill are the only people to recieve this honour. Regards, |
Just wanted to let you know that the Roger Hodgson concert in Kitchener last night (Thursday) was unbelievably awesome! My partner Kevin and I have always enjoyed Supertramp but were not rabid fans and I'd seen Supertramp at the CNE back in the '80s. That said, we were expecting a fun evening, as we always do when heading for "Electric Thursdays" but we never could have imagined how blown away we'd be by Roger's amazing performance (that voice is as true as it was 30 years ago!) and his delightful stage presence, by Aaron's spectacular sax solos, by how well the music lent itself to symphonic arrangement - and, of course, by how incredible the arrangements were (bravo once again, Peter!). Renata Radek & Kevin Mooney |
Roger, My son and I are huge fans of Supertramp music and are still riding the high from last night's performance in Kitchener ( no chemicals or herbs responsible; just the great music). I am 48 years old and Supertramp music was a big part of my life in the 70's. We have been to many concerts in the Toronto area in recent years, but last night was truly something very special. Hearing you and the K-W orchestra flawlessly reproduce some of the best songs ever written literally had me in tears throughout the performance. Good thing the lights were low in the audience. My son is one of the newer generations of Supertramp fans and both of us cannot wait for your return. We travelled more than 2 hours to get to last night's show and it would have been worth it to have travelled twice the distance. My only regret is that my wife was not there to enjoy it. Due to previous commitments, she begged off on this one. As a classical musician herself, she would have been amazed by "Fool's Overture", her favourite Supertramp song. My hope is that you will be true to your word and return to the Toronto area again soon, so that all of my family (including my pianist daughter) can experience a wonderful evening of your music. If last night's performance could have been bottled, I would put it on a shelf and savour an occasional sip every once in a while, like a fine single malt scotch. Many thanks for making me feel 30 years younger last night. Roy |
Hello I would like comment of the show I went to see on June 1,2006 in Kithchener Ontario, It was AMAZING. it was the like having headphones on, and I was taken away by the sound.. Keep us in Mind, |
Hi Roger, I just wanted to drop you a quick line to say thank you for dedicating "Breakfast" to me during the show in London, Ontario last night. It was really refreshing to see you perform again, and I am sorry if my appearance at the door almost "blew you away". I would have really enjoyed the opportunity for a chat with you, but I realize you were busy and on a tight schedule. I travel a lot in my job, so I experience the time issues and deadlines as well. Your show was absolutely brilliant, and I am amazed that you can still reach the high notes like you do. I like the path your music has taken utilizing the Orchestras and I am pleased that the sound, and the songs are still sounding the same, if not better in some cases. I think you are in your element up there in front of your fans, your confidence level has risen and the fans can sense that and love it. My daughter Stephanie said she loved the show, she wanted you to autograph the shirt she bought but we had to drive back to Buffalo and couldnt wait around. I have a flight today to Baltimore so I had to get home. One day before I get too old I would love to sit down with you over a coffee and discuss our lives and how they have changed over the last 35 years. Great Job! Best Regards, |
Congratulation to you, the K.W. symphony orchestra and the Jeans and Classic band members. I enjoyed every aspect of the concert, from the first note to the second encore. Your remarkable voice, as well as your musical talents, made this the best concert that I have attended. Big concert venues were thrilling during the 70's and 80's but a venue like a symphony concert hall is by far a better musical experience for people who are now in 'middle age'. Thank you again for a wonderful evening. I drove 90 minutes to attend the concert. I will continue to check the website for future performances in an area nearest to my home. Elizabeth |
Dubai
Jazz Festival Reviews
|
Like the many others attending the concert on 10th Mar in Dubai can I say what a fantastic event it was. I have been a fan of Supertramp since school back in the 70's. This event brought back many memories and left my wife and me glowing with admiration for the wonderful musicianship and warmth generated by Roger. Do come back to Dubai and thanks.
|
Dear Roger, A big big thank you to come all the way to Dubai. I hope they looked after you. The first LP I purchased was Crime of the Century after hearing it at a mate's house in Gloucestershire / UK. You make many people very happy when listening to your wonderful creations. I do not have much of your solo art , but will get some. Do come and see us again. it was fantastic to see you! Thank you,
|
I had the great privilege of seeing Roger play at the Dubai Jazz Festival last Friday night 10th March and it would mean so very much if you can pass on my brief message to him of just what a magical night this was for me. I am now 34 years old and growing up in Wales Mum and Dad were massive fans of Supertramp and one of my earliest memories is dancing around at the age of 2 with my arms in the air to 'Dreamer... can you put your hands in the air...' to which I would spin around with joy apparently according to Dad ! 'Dreamer' has to this day remained the special little song that takes me back to happy times and the one that both my parents and I always look back on. Can you therefore imagine the overwhelming feeling of euphoric joy and emotion when, 30 years later I find myself sitting in a jazz festival listening to one of mum and dad's biggest heros 4000 miles away in Dubai and not even in Wales ! ... It totally blew me away. I called my parents from the festival while Roger was playing as found myself so choked with feeling and emotion that I had a little tear of joy. It was quite overwhelming. So I have to say a big thank you from the heart. I have never written to a website before and yet it was possibly one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life and I have to thank Roger for this magical night full of such memory. I now have the signed photo up in my flat for all to see just like my mum and dad had 30 years ago too... Doesn't music travel ! Its great life stuff really. Thank you again and if this message does reach Roger could you give him the biggest hug from his number one fan who didn't even know she was a fan at the little age of 2! Bye for now,

World Vision Concert Reviews |
What else is to be said than: it was a Roger Hodgson concert. What else is expected than an artist who performs songs which you´re able to sing along? What else is expected than a performance that is able to resuscitate your youth and the "good old days"? Thanks for that, Roger! |
Shepherds Bush Reviews |
Hi Roger, I was at your show at the sheperds bush empire on wednesday, and I have to say it was amazing. I loved every minute of it and if you saw some guy giving you the thumbs up every tune in the front row with very short hair, that was me! Anyway it was definitely worth waiting the 14 years that I have to see you perform live. Many many thanks once again for a great show.I love your music.
|
Roger, What an emotional experience ! I was spellbound with a lump in my throat all the way through. You were absolutely amazing and I will never forget the 30th. Thank you so so much. When will the DVD be released, I can't wait ?Another album would be good too !! Thank you
|
Hi, I just wanted to send a message of thanks for such a wonderful night on Wednesday. I travelled to London from Liverpool having listened to Roger's music since the 70's. Supertramp and the solo work has been a feature at major family occasions, weddings etc., and has provided a soundtrack to memorable car and train journeys too. I've been to many live shows, but Wednesday was special. The enthusiasm of the crowd, the intimate nature of the venue and just the all round 'warmth' of the occasion made it a night to remember (with all the cameras there, will there be a DVD?!) Please don't stop writing and recording - there's already two new songs that you know that your audience loves! And each year Liverpool plays host to the Summer Pops, a series of concerts in a circus big top tent (we've had Diana Ross, Peter Gabriel, Lionel Ritchie and many many others) that holds around 2,000 people - it would be great to see Roger Hodgson on the bill! Once again, thank you so much for a wonderful evening - please don't wait 22 years next time!! Kindest regards,
|
Wow! What a fantastic night! I saw Roger at Shepherds Bush on Wednesday night and I can't remember a concert I enjoyed more. What a guy. What songs. What warmth from Roger to the audience and the audience to Roger. I saw Supertramp when there were about 150 people in the audience at Guildford Civic and saw them many more times and have always been a great admirer of their music. To see Roger play those songs (and the new ones) was a complete joy and I felt like staying and listening and joining in and clapping all night. What a feel good night. I turned to look at the faces in the cicle and above and EVERYONES faces were alight with enjoyment. Fantastic! Please do it again soon. Roger said that he was not sure people would remember him.........How could they forget him? Absolutely brilliant. Thank you,
|
Hello Roger, your concert at Shepherd’s Bush was a great show. The sax player was out of this world and it was nice to see John Helliwell in the crowd. Please come back soon as I’ve promised my 12 year old son I’ll take him to see you in concert. Thanks for the songs, best wishes,
|
Roger, Thank you SO much for playing this lovely theatre this week. I was SO pleased to see and hear you, as Supertramp have been my favourite band for so long, but I did not discover you in time to see you live before you split up. One of the biggest regrets of my life. In a way, though, I made up for it a little bit this week. Please hurry back so we can do it again? Don't Hide in Your Shell? Give a little bit? You were brilliant!! So relaxed, and so talented. It was a privelige to be there.
|
Dear Roger, Like many I looked forward to the Shepherds Bush show on 30th November. 22 years is a long time and I hope that you may do some more shows in the UK in future. I have said it before and I will say it again, you are a well-loved and respected musician. Your songs have become part of people (what is personal in its creation becomes universal in its appeal and then it becomes personal again). Your songs have meaning, sentiment and craft. To open and close with "Give A Little Bit" was inspired. Acoustic "School" on 12 string and keys? - what can I say? - a delight! The medley incorporating "Crime.." was brilliant. We miss "Tramp" and life goes on (rites of passage, I guess). It was good to see Mr Helliwell in the crowd, but it was your show. Thanks again for what was a magical and memorable show. Your humility, warmth and connection is marvellous to see. Thank you,
|
It was in attendance at the recent show at the Shepherds Bush Empire on November 30th, which was wonderful. The concert was being filmed, and I would like to know where I would be able to see the footage. Is it for a TV show in the UK, or maybe a DVD? Is it possible to advise me? Many thanks,
|
Roger, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for a wonderful concert. Don't you dare leave it another 22 years!!!! :-) You truly are an amazing songwriter and the fact that you carry so much rhythm into your keyboard and 12 string playing means that we don't miss the drums and bass at all! Loved every second of it. I'd love to hear you do "along came mary" and "know who you are" at some stage so hopefully you can add them to the set for me next time you're around!!!! Fondest regards,
|
Dear Roger, I wanted to write and let you know how moved I was by your sensational concert on Wednesday night. It was a real joy to see you in such good form and sounding so superb... after so long! I congratulate you on an outstanding solo performance and for writing and singing such legendary songs. This comes with heartfelt best wishes as I used to play drums for you at Stowe! We all hope to see you in London again very soon. Yours,
|
Dear Roger and Team, I just had to make contact to say that Wednesday night's concert will live with my wife and I for the rest of our days. Being true music fans (both fortysomethings!) we have been to countless gigs and in fairness seen them all. But some stand out as being very, very special and on what we witnessed on Wednesday was certainly that. Your perfomance was simply electrifying. Please do not leave it another twenty two years Roger - that most certainly would run for crime of the century! Thank you so much. With our love and good wishes to you all. PS Could'nt help but notice the filming going on. Will keep our fingers crossed that it will be on DVD/televised before too long. Can you let us know?
|
Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for a brilliant gig in Shephards Bush, London the other night. Please don't leave it quite as long until you come back next time.
|
Dear Roger, Thank you for an absolutely brilliant gig on Wednesday night. It was well worth the 26 year wait! - you were right when you said it has been 22 years since you played England, but it's been much longer since you played Scotland and my wife and I happily made the journey down from Ayrshire when we discovered you would be playing at home. I trust the reception you were given by your UK fans has convinced you that there is a real demand for your music. We're all looking forward to the 2006 UK tour (hint, hint) and please don't forget to bring merchandise next time! Many thanks again,
|
Hi Roger, Just to say how much we loved your concert on Wednesday - your performance was just so perfect and very emotional for us too, so many memories of our youth all those years ago. I saw you and the band in about 1978/9 at Wembley - a great performance too. Please don't leave it so long until the next time - we'll all be there and many others too. Do you remember a guy called Andrew Chance (at Stowe) ? He has a band and came with us - he loved every second of it. Thank you for a truely great time. It was a spiritual experience. Kind regards,
|
To Roger, I have eagerly awaited a date in the UK since 1984, after I had listened to your solo album. It has become my most played album, along with your other albums released since then. I wrote to you in 1985 querying a UK tour date, to which you replied that one was planned sometime in 1986 or so. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see that you had taken the time to write a little personal note to me on the letter. Thank you. I only got the recent UK date by sheer chance, as I hadn't been on the web site for some months. I immediately bought the tickets and within a week was winging my way to London to see the performance that I have so much been wanting to see. I went with my wife, who knows of you but not really listened to your solo music. She is a new convert! I was completely overwhelmed by your performance. It was fantastic, well worth the 20 year or so wait! Everyone I could see at the concert were moved and ecstatic during the whole event. I went home with a massive grin on my face and a great feeling. Different on my journey up to London due to delays etc. Thank you again, Roger, for a great performance and for your music that has helped me over the years. Don't leave it too long before you return "home" to perform again. Best wishes,

Casino Rama Concert Reviews |
Roger, What an amazing show! Having been raised on your music, I can say that without a shadow of a doubt your performance, coupled with that of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, was stellar. I particularly appreciated you playing music from your solo works; "Only Because of You" was amazing. But in all truthfulness, the highlight of the night and with greatest anticipation was without a doubt "Fool's Overture". All I have to say about that is 'thank you'. I sincerely hope that we will be blessed to see many more performances. Thank you, |
We just got back from our trip to Toronto. What a great experience to hear Roger's music
orchestrated again. It took on an incredible life. "Hide in your Shell"
could not have sounded better and Roger's voice was again impeccable. I
look forward anxiously for a new album. His new song "Keep the Pigeons
Warm" is a winner. Thank you Roger, for the best music year after year. |
Dear Roger, Merci a thousand times for the amazing concert Friday
night at Casino Rama. Please be back soon to Canada. Never two without
three! That's an old French adage! The symphony orchestra was a
fabulous idea by the way where did the musicians come from? Best
wishes! |
Having seen Roger each time he has played Casino Rama in Orillia, Ontario, I've always been left wishing he'd put out a live album of his solo performances. I'm stumped as to why he hasn't. But, now that I've seen him with the orchestra, it is even more glaringly obvious that he should release a soundboard of this show. It was absolutely breathtaking. But don't leave off "Two Of Us"!

Hi Roger; My husband, friends and I attended both Casino Rama Concerts. I was fortunate to see you backstage the first night. This was a highlight of my life, especially in the last year of losing a sister, father and a mother who is critically ill. I have listen to your music as a teenager and continue to enjoy all your songs. You have always been my absolute favorite muscian, artist and performer. Seeing you perform in person brought a new meaning to the old songs. I look forward to another opportunity of seeing you in concert!!!! Your number one fan! |
Hi, During the concert Roger introduced a new song, which I think is (Keep the pigeon from the storm). The song tugged on many heart strings, as I just lost my brother and it seemed like the lyrics were written on the way he lived his life. I am wondering if Mr. Hodgson will be releasing this song in the near future. Every time I see him perform he turns another chapter in my life. Please take a moment and thank him personally for his great talent and how it has touched my life. Thanks, |
Dear Roger, My wife and I and our friends saw your show on Sept. 24, 2005. It was an absolutely incredible performance. In one evening you sang all these songs and they sounded just as great as they do on record. It was wonderful to hear your voice in person, so familiar to me, after so many years of hearing it on your records. Crime of the Century was the first record I ever listened to. I was perhaps 8 or 9 and I have been listening to it ever since. I was so happy that you chose to play many songs that I have found particularly moving, including ones that were not singles such as If Everyone Was Listening and Even in the Quietest Moments for example, but the list goes on and on and I found myself thinking how wonderful each and every song was. Now, I have introduced my two older children to your music. They find it as uplifting as I do. Thank you so much. I'll be there if you would come back again! Yours truly, |
Just a short message to let you know I saw your concert on Sept 24/ 05 and it blew me away for a second time (saw you last year when you were sick and you were still amazing) The 40 piece orchestra was great but I also love your singing solo. Supertramp was the first concert I ever went too at the CNE so you will always hold a special place in my heart. When I tell people about your show I get goosebumps as your performance was amazing and you are such a nice guy. Hope to see you next year.
|
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL EVENING. We have attended each of your concerts at Casino Rama and thoroughly enjoyed them. The addition of the orchestra made your music just spectacular!! We look forward to your return. |
I have to say something about the show in Rama …. I am in this business because I love music and Saturday’s performance was the ultimate payoff. For a couple of hours I got to step back and be a fan. Roger’s music has always been special to us, but it was so much beyond that on Saturday. It was such a personal and moving experience, you could feel the electricity jumping around the room; it is really hard to put into words. It was almost as if we were the only people in the room, like Roger was singing right to us. I am sure everyone feels the same at great shows but it is not often something that I have been able to say before. Thanks for encouraging us to see one of the shows!
|
Seen your show at Casino Rama Sat Sept 24th we all came away amazed by your talents. What a nice touch to have the Orchestra, and the sound was crisp!. I must say I was moved to tears with the Lord is it mine song, I didn't realize I needed a tissue for your concert. I hope you come back soon!!! |
Hey Roger: I don't know if you get this message personally, but, I do want to say it was a joy to see you perform once again at Casino Rama last night. I'm so glad I got the tickets in the front row to watch you perform such an amazing concert last night. It was even more of a joy to meet you once again backstage and get another picture of you and I together which I truly value. I hope you will come back to Rama next year, your shows are always the high light of my summer. It is truly an honour having you perform in Canada, the fans absolutely love you, and your shows get rave reviews every single year. Anyways, I wish you well, and hope you will return to Rama next year so I can see your show once again, and get a hug from you, too!!! All the best Roger, have a fanatastic year. |
Dear Roger. Seen your show Last Night at Casino Rama. This is the third time me and my wife have seen you at Casino Rama. This time we also bought tickets for my brother in law and his wife. WWWWOOOOOHHHHH what a show . YOU and the orchestra were amazing. YOUR selection of songs was perfect.Hide in your shell was my highlight of the night .This song has so much power. I hope you continue to come to town. When you walk on stage you just put a smile on everyones face.We live in such a violent world lately and when ever you come to town and perform you take us to a magical place. I have been a fan since the early seventies.Keep smiling and playing because you make this world a better place. Your friends |

Hello, I was lucky enough to have been at the Casino Rama show this past Saturday. It was the first time I have had a change to Roger live and I loved it!!! Being a Supertramp fan from years ago (of course) I knew many of the songs that Roger played. There were a couple songs I didn't know and was wondering if it would be possible to email the set list so I would be able to tell which songs they were. Thank you in advance for your assistance. p.s. after hearing how great the songs sounded with the
symphony orchestra I couldn't help but ask if there are any thoughts of
a live CD release with Roger and a symphony orchestra. It would be a CD
release that I would definitely look forward to. |
Saw Roger at Casino rama in Orillia last evening. Wonderful! I hope you can come to London, Ontario some day soon. I
have told friends and family they should not miss seeing you. We very
much enjoyed your concert. My husband states the best concert he has
seen in years. |
Honestly - the very best concert I have ever attended (most especially at Casino Rama). Absolutely fantastic with the orchestra. Everyone in the audience was ecstatic! Please return next year to Casino Rama with orchestra.
We will definitely be there. |
Hello! Last night was my third time seeing Roger perform at Casino Rama just north of Toronto. I am blown away by him every time I see him. But last night, hearing him perform with an orchestra, truly turned the music into magic. In fact, through most of the performance, I kept my eyes closed so that I could focus on the sounds. Fool's Overture brought tears to my eyes. It was so beautifully done. As well as seeing Roger perform in the last few years, I also had the pleasure of attending a couple of Supertramp concerts back in the 80's. Last night was nothing short of the best performance of these songs that I have ever heard! Please, please, please, you must consider recording these arrangements! It would be a shame not to immortalize this performance, at the very least, on CD...if not on DVD. Last night was wonderful. Thank you so much for the music that you have created. Best Musical Wishes, |
Just saw the show at Rama last night and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. Roger is better than ever! The last time I saw him was on the Crime of the Century tour in the mid seventies in Toronto. Last night brought back a lot of great memories. Thanks! |
My wife and I had a fantastic evening listening to Roger and orchestra. I never would have thought Fools Overture could be improved but you rocked Rama with Symphony as back up. Any chance your performance here was recorded? Awesome performance. Thank you for your gift to us.
|
Hi, I just saw Roger last night at Casino Rama with the symphony orchestra, and it was a night I will remember for the rest of my life. "Hide In Your Shell" is my favorite Supertramp song, and getting to see it performed fully orchestrated just blew me away. Is there any chance any of Roger's live performances will ever be filmed and made available? In my opinion, he is one of the greatest talents (what an unbelievable live singer he is) and I would love to have something I can pop into my DVD player and listen to on my home theatre. Any chance of this? Thanks in advance and take care, |
Hi Roger, Well I finally got to see you again after all these years. So glad you (and I) survived. Your music and lyrics have always moved me to tears but now I'm able to feel it and share it a little deeper. I'm one of your many passionate fans and I try to pass the love on each and every day. It was an incredible concert last night and you mellowed the crowd so much that some could barely clap in case they interrupt the meditation we all seemed to be sharing. Bravo and keep coming back! Love, |
Dear Roger, We've just gotten in from your performance tonight and I wanted to thank you so much for coming back to Casino Rama for us once again. Both shows were absolutely amazing. Having been following the resurgence of your live performances over the last seven years, I must say that you were in top form for these two shows and the orchestra backing you up sounded phenomenal! As I was saying to anyone who would listen to me tonight, you can't help feeling fantastic after one of your shows. There is such joy that one gets filled with upon hearing your voice and your music. I feel rejuvenated once again and totally pumped. I always start smiling the instant you walk on stage until that last note is played. Thank you. You truly are a gift to us all. Canada loves you and that was totally evident both shows. My gang of friends are all anxiously awaiting your return in May. We already have our seats bought. It feels very special to know we hold such a warm place in your heart for you to keep returning to us. I personally would like you to know that it is very much appreciated that Canada means what it does to you and that you choose to perform for us as often as you do when you do so little touring these days. It was nice connecting with the friends we've made through your shows and meeting some new ones these last two shows. May you have a wonderful winter ahead of you and have the joy and peace you so rightly deserve. Thank you once again. It was magic! Your loyal fan, |
I recently saw Mr .Hodgson At Casino Rama (this evening as a matter of fact) Sat. Sept 24th 2005, and he performed a song entitled Hide in your Shell which left me in tears and deeply moved. I immediately came home after the evening performance and downloaded it but there are some words I am unable to understand through my computer. Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of the words. The entire evening was sensational for my family and myself. This is the third time we have seen Mr. Hodgson in concert. My daughter and husband joined us as well. I sang all of his songs to he as I carried her inside of me for the nine months. He is a most amazing performer....... Thank you |
Roger.... wanted to thank you for a fantastic show with the 40 piece orchestra at Casino Rama. I saw you many times in the 70's and early 80's with Supertramp, and last nights show with the orchaestra really brought back fond memories. In fact, my wife started crying when you played "hide in your shell". Your voice still sounds great, and the songs still have strong meanings. Thanks for a fantastic show and would love to see you
again with the orchaestra (but please add more songs as you left so
many great ones out!!!) |
Please let Roger know that I traveled to Canada from Durango Colorado to see the show. I brought some friends from the Buffalo NY area. We all loved it. My friend Karl's brought his wife, who is a bit younger than us. She knew of Supertramp but not of Roger as a solo artist. She came away amazed! Thank him for a great show. The orchestra was a wondeful addition. May i suggest you sell the video from the show? I bet you could do very well producing a disc of each show. What a wonderful memory to have! Please let me know if it is possible to purchase it. Thanks again. |
Saw Roger at Casino Rama last night with his Symphony Orchestra. One word description "WOW"....what a show, what a performance. Roger played all his Supertramp hits and a few of his own, Lovers in the Wind was spectacular. The Orchestra and Roger were a prefect mix.... Encore, Encore, Encore. |
You need to get Roger on a full scale tour of the United States! I ventured three hours to see him at Casino Rama in Ontario on 9/23 and was truly amazed. Roger's voice is outstanding and the song selection was great. I would recommend Roger to anyone looking to see a great singer/songwriter in concert! We need a new album from Roger, as he sang a couple of new songs and they were just fantastic! Keep the Pigeon Warm was truly a highlight of the show. |
Hi Roger We saw you last night at CasinoRama and your show was
awesome. Your voice is very strong and you sure hit those high notes.
Look forward to seeing you when you come back to Canada. |
Roger, I had the wonderful fortune to have taken in your concert at Casino Rama, Ontario, last night, September 23rd, 2005. What a trip!!! I have seen your former bandmates on several occasions since 1980, after you left, I love them still, but it is like watching a cover band when they do your music. I have been a huge fan since I was 8 - Crime of the Century was the first album (then CD) that I ever bought. "If Everyone Was Listening" still sends chills up my spine, and brings back so many memories of my youth, wonderful memories - it's hard to explain, and perhaps harded for you to understand, what your music has meant to me for more than 30 years. To hear that song last night, and so many others - Fool's Overture, Only Because of You - amazing. I had a tear in my eye, but for the happiest of reasons - a remarkable reflection by me of my life, in every song you sing. I have 2 young children now, 8 and 3, and they know who you are, your music, and that of your old band mates. A new album would be wonderful, but the classics to me are timeless - God Bless for the sadness, uncertainty, tranquility, peace and hope that is the tapestry of your music in my life. Peterborough, Ontario |
WOW! I didn't stop singing all night! I'll work on my whistling for next time though, sadly out of practice. The litany of hits from your solo career and Supertramp were amazing! Songs that brought back memories to each and every one reliving those glory days of our youth to which your music was such a huge part. Thanks for your music, it continues to be a big part of my life. Yours in music |
Rugenrock Fun and Music Festival Reviews |
Hello Roger, After your Concert in Zürich, Bex Festival, Bern und Zug in Switzerland in Year 2000, Sallanches at 06 July 2005, we have again see you in Mont-Soleil and Interlaken at 26-27 August 2005. You are the very best and you can make Supertramp alone on the Stage with only Piano, Guitar and Keyboard. In Interlaken you were also the live Soundcheck Man, it was very fun. Please come back in Switzerland !! |
Hello again dear Roger I saw you last Weekend in Interlaken and 1983 in Basel with Supertramp. You are the best, I like the songs and you! You are my "Model"! Many Greetings from Switzerland! |
Mont Soleil Open Air Festival Reviews |
Dear Roger! Congratulation on your concert at Mont-Soleil last weekend! It was such a wonderful concert with great songs and it was amazing to see with what kind of pleasure you still sing your songs! I know Supertramp from earlier but I didn't know that you are still on tour with your songs. So to be honest I have to tell you that I did not visit the festival specially because of you. But you can be sure that I will visit it next time ONLY BECAUSE OF YOU!!! You will come back to Switzerland, won't you? I hope so... I still can't forget that feeling standing there in the first place, stareing at your amazing smile and listening to these beautiful songs. - I still get chickenskin thinking of it! I hope to visit another concert one day and I really hope that you get my message, because I want you to know how much we loved your concert! Even when I guess that I'm not the first person to congratulate you... :-) Well I'll let you read your other messages and hope to see you again one day! By the way: I am Swiss (the Swiss people are known as friendly people, respecting the distance to all the VIPs we have here... *smile*), nearly 33 years old, to old for being a "groupie" and to young to be a Supertramp fan from the first hour. But on Friday I was really sad not having a backstage pass and having the chance to see your wonderful smile not only from the distance. It would be a pleasure for me to see it once again... Lots of love from Switzerland where the sun is shining
again since yesterday! I think you brought it back to our country and
it was raining on Mont-Soleil on Saturday because you spent the evening
in Interlaken... :-) |
Thank you very much dear Roger for your concert on Mont
Soleil in Switzerland Friday 26 august 2005. It was wonderful and you
made all the people happy. It was great to meet you after the concert
in your "container". I'll never forget that und wish you all the best.
You are simply the best. |
Manitoba Summerfest Reviews |
I hope you will continue West in the summer of 2006. Your Grand Beach-Winnipeg show in 2005 was amazing. What's interesting to note is that as much as your music was a part of my life in the 70's and 80's, it seems to be equally as important to my son. He is 16 and has somehow discovered and more impressively, learned to play your stuff on his guitar. I would love to share a live performance with him. Alberta... (my new home) welcomes you anytime!!!
Okotoks, Alberta ((20 minutes south of Calgary) can offer an incredible
outdoor venue. Roger in the Rockies!!! |
Grand Beach Manitoba performance outstanding, It was a concert coup! It was fantastic to have Roger Hodgson in Grand Beach to perform! With thunderstorms threatening, Roger delivered his songs to the crowd with passion and energy. To be able to perform his songs solo with the occasional assistance of a saxaphone speaks to his tremendous ability. The highlight of the night for me was "Sister Moonshine" - what a great song! - they're all great songs. Roger Hodgson is an extremely talented individual, and it was the highlight of my summer to have been able to see him again in concert. Thank you Roger for performing for us. |
Awesome show! It was something to see and hear even just a small
sampling of Roger's amazing talents. His rendition of School at
Summerfest was truly a memberable highlight! Thank you so much for
visiting us here in Manitoba! I hope to see and hear you again! |
I was in Grand Beach this past weekend, and had the privilege and honour seeing the great Roger Hodgson in person and singing some of his amazing songs. I am 18 years old, so I wasn't even alive when Supertramp was running at its peak. My dad however has listened to it many a night over the years, and I as well have grown to love the music. I don't know if Roger will ever read this, but I was the
guy in the front row, right in front of your keyboard, wearing glasses
and a goatee. You gave me the "thumbs-up" when I gave it to you and you
glanced at me a few times. It made me feel as though I, as well as the
others around me were appreciated by you as much as we all appreciate
you in return. |
saw you at summerfest and it was very good. you made the
nite. i liked the accoustic performance. so thank you for coming out to
summerfest. |
Byblos Festival Reviews |
Hello! I am a 15year old girl, I live in Paris and I didn't know you till I went to Lebanon where I went to your concert in Byblos... and it was so wonderful, you were between the sea, the archeological site of byblos and the moon... it was realy like in dreams,... and your music brought me so much far in my dream!! As soon as I returned to Paris I bought all your records, but I couldn't find one with only you, which are not sale in France. Please come to Paris for a concert soon. My parents won't let me go at your concret in London..."school is not over" ... I am learning guitar for one year, and I hope to play as good as you do one day! I love you so much! Thank you for making so beautiful songs ! See you soon under the moon of Paris! Bye! |
Capacity audience cheered, danced and sang along at festival opening... BYBLOS: With a blood orange full moon rising behind him, the warm waves of the Mediterranean washing against the shore in front of him and a crowd of worshipful fans in between, Roger Hodgson, bore a striking resemblance to Jesus Christ on Friday night. For more details read the article by Ramsay Short, The Daily Star Article. |
The Byblos concert was amazing... I had never dreamed that I will live to see the day when I would sing along live to "Lovers in the wind", "Breakfast in America", or "Logical song"... Thank you for bringing logic to an illogic world, to defying bombs while simply "giving a little bit"... Roger might never read those words, but it would have been inhuman from my part not send them.... Otherwise, I'd have been "a sinner for my authographs"... All kudos and praise from Beirut |
Schwetzingen Concert Reviews |
Dear Roger, Thanks again for three wonderful and magnificent concerts I had the pleasure to attend (Schwetzingen / Heilbronn / Frankfurt). The warmth and magic of your performance were tangible as well as your modesty and love for your audience. That makes the difference. That makes you and your shows inimitable. Thank you very much for your music. I really look forward to the concert in Karlsruhe on July 23rd! A big hug for Shakti! Regards from Schwetzingen |
Dear Roger, We just want to send you a big "THANK YOU" for your show in Schwetzingen - it was unbelieveable and will remain unforgettable! My wife an I have visited many concerts so far, but yours was the best we´ve ever seen... It was indescribable to hear and to see the favourite singer of my youth eye to eye on stage. Thanks again and we hope that we´ll have the opportunity to see you once more on stage! With the best regards from Schwetzingen |

Hi Shakti, By the way, I forget to tell you 1 little story: There was this coma patient whom his wife brought to the
concert in a wheel chair, because he was always such a big Supertramp
fan. They wanted to see if the concert would produce any effect on his
condition, not moving and not reacting to people around him, and during
the first song the tears were streaming from his cheeks. That is something! Best regards, |
Hello, Congratulation und many thanks for this magic night in Schloß Schwetzingen. It has been "fantastisch" and we all hope to see you very soon back an stage. When your´e up on the stage it´s so unbelievable, so unforgettable, how you bring your music in our hearts. There is nothing else to compare with. Hi Roger, Congratulations to the great performance on Sat., 16.07.05 in Schwetzingen/Castle. It was so wonderful and emotional to see you in concert after such a long time. Hope you will come back to Germany next year. God bless you. |

Hello Roger Hodgson, Thank you very much for your super performance at Schwetzingen / Mannheim last night, it was my 1st time to see you onstage! I'm 25 years old, student of English and French in Heidelberg (near Mannheim) and I love too playing keyboard (and violin) . I was very touched by your friendly and trustful appearance and you gave me new motivation to pursue my music ambitions! I've already written some own songs but so far I haven't
found the right people to support or help me. I'd be happy if you hear
my music one day because I owe much of my musical joy to you and your
beautiful music. GOD BLESS YOU AND GIVE YOU MANY MANY GOOD YEARS TO COME! One of your German fans |

Four friends we decided to travel from Barcelona to Collado Villalba (Madrid) by car to attend the concert of Roger during the weekend. In the evening and taking a walk by the town near the hotel we listened in the distance floating in the air the notes of "Hide in your shell" sung by Roger. What a surprise ! we were far from the venue (outdoor sports area), in the other side of the freeway, but we were able to listen it clearly. Also we heared The Logical song. So we went towards there and we met some friends from diverse parts of Spain, around 15 people, in the soundcheck. A great scene in the middle of a esplanade, with row seats in front of the stage and stands in lateral and back. Fortunately we could enjoy the soundchek seated in front of Roger, and even he dedicated to us a fragment of an unpublished song, "The awakening". Also he requested our collaboration with our clapping to prove the return of the audience's sound, as he does it sometimes. It was a funny moment, we all clapping and screaming with energy ..... Other songs that I remember, and that he didn't play in the concert were "Don't you wanna get high" and "Only because of you". After the soundcheck Roger spoke to me about the excellent sound that pleased much to him. Good equipment and speakers. It really sounded very well, powerful, clear and no echoes as no having buildings around. We went back to the hotel and few friends enjoyed a "private concert" in a room thanks to Pedro (The Roger's role in the Logical group) playing lots of Supertramp's songs with his new 12 strings guitar, singing we all together, nice warm up for the concert .......... The concert of Roger began around 11pm and he played for about hardly one and a half hour since there were three concerts in the same evening: the Dutch saxophone player Candy Dulfer in the first place and the "Blues Brothers" after Roger's show, and that fact limits the time of each show. The welcome of the audience was extraordinary, even the people was acclaiming Roger before the show. Rooooger, Roooger,......... Apart from the row seats, much people like us were standing up in front of the scene and the corridors. What a fantastic atmosphere and Roger was in a really good shape. It was a solo show, Roger played his habitual keyboard (Korg Triton), a grand piano and his 12 strings guitars. The audience was acclaiming Roger between all the songs (making him to wait start playing some times....), clapping enthusiastically, and Roger was very glad with the welcome. Some people around me attending their first show of Roger were really touched. That's magic. The people sung and had fun mainly the old hits of Roger in Supertramp, and I hardly heard the voice of Roger sometimes in "Dreamer" and other hits since everybody in the audience was singing !!! ..... the fact is we had fun :o) The voice and playing of Roger was superb. Wow. Most of the songs were well known Supertramp, but he
also performed "Lovers in the wind" from his first solo album and an
unpublished song "Keep the Pigeons warm". For the people who have gone
to other concerts of Roger perhaps the surprises were "A soapbox opera"
and "if everyone was listening" that he usually does not play quite
often, but are on my favorites. Due to the fact of playing alone,
people clapped the rhytm and sung the pieces of Rick, that amused and
helped Roger. The climax of the show was, no doubt, It's raining again
and Dreamer, everybody singing and jumping :o) and last number Give a
little bit. Everybody "gave" much that nigth. Roger spoke to the audience several times between the songs and was touched for the welcome and support, we saw him happy. He told it me after the concert, the great connection between the Spanish people and his music. That's great ! I saw the audience really surrended and heard very positive comments. The previous concert of Roger in Spain was five years ago (again Madrid) so Roger was desired. For many people it's the music of their childhood, adolescence or youth, our soundtrack in our lifes. It has something touches the people deeply and you can feel in tune with that person who transmits peace and affection to you. For many people was a magical night. Some people missed the lack the support of a band, but
it was a last minute appointment (they received the invitation one
month before) so no time for more. There are plans for an European tour
next year and possibilities for Spain too. Cross my fingers...... |
Sallanches Show Reviews |
Roger, The last time I saw you, it was in Dax (France), more than twenty years ago. It was a very warm evening with a very big storm, which made shorter the Supertramp concert... Three weeks ago I came from the Czech republic (where I have been living for a long time) to Sallanches. Many thanks for your perform: "you made me love you" more than ever. You gave me so much happiness : you choose old songs that are my favorites. You are an exceptional songwriter, musician and singer with a so clear and powerful voice. So please go on writing so beautiful songs and ... come to make a concert in Central Europa as soon as possible.
|
I decided to drive from Barcelona to Sallanches (8 hours) to attend the concert of my friend Roger and also see the Montblanc and Le Pic du Midi. The concert was fantastic, but about the Montblanc ..... I didn't see anything during the three days I was around there !!! Oh man..... I love Chamonix but Chamonix doesn't love me ;-) It's raining again the three days ! rain and fog, winter weather in July, no visibility ...... next time ;-). In the soundcheck I met a lot of friends from diverse parts of Europe (Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, England...) and Canada !. Friends we are meeting in different concerts, we are like a big family ...... The venue was a kind of big indoor basket pavilion , no seats, no stands. So, a lot of flat space for many people. The organizer placed some signs on the streets of the town to help the people find the "Salle Leon Curral". And Roger spoke for radio interviews the previous days. The sound was powerful and clear. Excellent. The concert began at 8:30 pm and he played more than one and a half hour approx, and the audience acclaimed Roger for two encores !!! The speaker introduced Roger as the only one concert of Roger in France this year. The welcome of the audience was really warm, very good atmosphere. It was full of people, two or three thousand people or more. We arrived in the last minute, after dinner, and it was hard to go near the stage ! Roger played his habitual keyboard (Korg Triton), a grand piano and his 12 strings guitars. Norbert (who played with Roger several times in Nigth of the Proms last year) accompanied Roger playing the saxo/clarinet/Harmonica/Keyboard/Whistle in most of the songs and a young man (invited by the promoter I guess) played the harmonica in School and Take the long way home, doing it pretty well. The welcome from the audience was great during the whole concert, listening the songs with respect and collaborating with claps when necessary and Roger was very grateful. He dared to speak in basic French in all the occasions, but warning people "Mon français c'est catastrofique":o) but hes french was clear and we understood him well. That encouraged tha audience still more.... Roger dedicated to the audience an unpublished song "Keep the pigeons warm" and the feedback from the audience was very positive. In this concert Norbert played more things than usual: for instance he played the solo-piano of School while Roger play the guitar, and also he played the intro of "Hide in your shell" with the harmonica (in the album was made by a melodica or syhnt) and the whistle in Logical song and some more things I can't remember now exactly. And the duet sax-harmonica in "Take the long way home" was great. There was much of Supertramp in the show and some songs of Roger solo albums, like "Lovers in the wind", " Open the door", and " Along came Mary". The audience had a lot of fun and at the end of the show nobody wanted to say goodbye to Roger. The people wanted more songs......and more songs..... so finally two encores ! and Roger was exhausted ..... A large and noisy end :o) Roger transmitted much peace and care and it was again a
magical night. |
Hello Mr Hodgson I just want to thank you for your concert in Sallanches, France, yesterday night. It was "bloody marvellous " as you said! Thank you for singing beautiful songs like Two of Us, Sister Moonshine, Even in the Quietest Moments etc. Your new song about keeping the pigeons warm was beautiful too, don't hesitate to record it! All the best! |
I really want to thank Mr Hodgson for the great concert he gave yesterday evening. I am a fan of Supertramp and I saw the band several times but this time, it was more initimate and we (it was also a big pleasure for me to come with my 15 years old daughter) really appreciate the warmth and the sympathy of Mr Hodgson. Please come again it was so wonderful that it could have been going on for hours... And excuse me for my english but as Mr Hodgson spoke in french I have to write in english Thanks a lot et 0 bientçot |

The message is LOVE, its always been love, those of us who are blessed to feel love naturally may take it for granted, since many less fortunate people dont have have love around them, but instead have abuse and violence not to mention HUNGER, we must somehow let these less fortunate people know that we(the modern world)really do care and love them even though weve never met, you dont need to no someone in person to love them, I love from the bottom of my heart her holiness Miss. Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Mr.Hodgson and starving kids all over the world and I've never met any of them, except Roger(whom i saw in concert in london, once)but we are all brothers and sisters and like family you love unconditionaly, I feel a song like Give a Little Bit is an anthem for the world, for the rich for the poor, white and black, choose to love not hate and try to understand others even if you can't relate to them, we could have easily been the very person we choose to ignore or forget about, so SMILE AND SHOW YOU CARE, if you Give a Little Bit you get a little more back! Thanx a million Roger for still caring for those who are forgotten, and still making beautifull music after all these years for true music lovers all around the world. I was alittle boy(5 or 6) when i fell in love with Roger and Supertramp, and will be a huge fan till the day i move on to my next lesson. PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU ROGER & YOUR FAMILY. glory

Bospop Festival Reviews |
Hello who"ll read this, What a performance it was, what a great music and musician (s). After having lost the feeling for supertramp I really enjoyed seeing Roger Hodgson and hearing all the familiar and one new song. In fact I came for Joe Cocker and he was a highlight but this struck me like lightning and I started collecting all the music again, after having given way all my records 15 years ago. Thank you for enjoying again your music, is there a chance of coming back too Holland soon. I"ll surely will be there. Greetings |
Dear Roger Hodgson, As many other people who dropped their lines here I´d like to say that your performance at Bospop overwhelmed me. Tears were running down my face when you performed Dont`t leave me now. I was one of the guys who played the drums...Please give a little bit of your love to Supertramp again and come back with the band! Even Pink Floyd did it!
|
I would like to thank Mr. Hodgson for the very special performance he gave on the 2nd of July in the Netherlands, at the Bospop Festival. I think I was witness to a very special occasion of contact between the performer and his audience; Roger was awesome! Thanks again. |
Hello there, I'm wondering if there will soon be a new Roger Hodgson album. I think the Open the Door album was very beautiful. I've seen Roger in Bospop (Weert in Holland.) His performance was one of the best I've seen (and I've seen many, many bands) in the last years. Thanks for the beautiful music you've made for us!! Greetings |
Hi, I saw the performance from Roger on Bospop in Holland, it was great and very personal. I think that for most of Supertramp fans this kind of performing is one of the best sides of Roger to experience. And Roger the song that you played with the question from you that should the song be recorded on your next album, yes do that for two reasons. 1. It is a great song (I think with a orchestra is it really great) 2. If you have a next song for your new album, this means that this album is coming quicker for us as real fans of a great artist. Greetings |
Roger, My wife and I are just home from Bospop. We went because we are a pair of nutters that follow Marillion nearly everywhere they go. However we both agreed that your performance really made the day for us as we had both grown up listening to the music of Supertramp. Due in part to our following of Marillion and their
attitude towards allowing photography we had our camera with us and
took a few shots of yourself and Norbert. They are now on our website.
Firstly I You can see the pictures I've published on http://www.askew.nl/marillion then scroll down to your picture and click the flashing camera icon. I took many more pictures than I've published on the site but you can find these at http://www.askew.nl/marillion/images.asp?source=Bospop2005All Once again thanks for a really memorable concert. I
really hope you will make it back this way before too long. |
Dear Mr. Hodgson, I really enjoyed your show last saturday on Bospop in Weert. In one word FANTASTIC. I hope to see once again somewhere. Many Thanks for the great evening. Kind regards, |
A Taste of Summer Festival Reviews |
This is only the second time that I have had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Roger perform....the first was back in 1983 as the first concert I ever attended. This second time is one I will cherish as he played and sang so well. A few raindrops began to fall mid-way through the show, but then stopped. I think those rain drops were from my sister (who took me to that show in 1983), letting me know she was watching the show with me. My sister died in 1990, but I remember our great time listening to your great music back in '83. Your lyrics speak right to my heart (especially Hide in your Shell and Lord is it Mine), and I am so thankful to you that you published those great songs. My new wife is not very familiar with your music, but she enjoyed how I sung "Two of Us" to her as you played it. It was a great show, and I am so thrilled that you stopped by our little town. I am just writing to say a big THANK YOU for all of your
music. I look forward to any new material that you release and any
future stops you make in Wisconsin. |
Thank you for making the effort and listening to "Jeff"
and performing here this summer. The evening was a beautiful trip
through songs that I grew up with and seeing them stripped down
showcased the emotion and passion not only of the songs but of Mr.
Hodgson as a performer. I only ask that you come back to Milwaukee and
share with your fans again! |
Mr. Hodgson, I had the honor of being at your show last night in Waukesha WI. Tears came to my eyes the moment you started. Your songs have touched my heart for the last 25 years. I remember as a teenager listening to so many of the songs and feeling like you could hear my heart. Then in 1984 I met the love of my life and as we courted we listened over and over to your songs and realized we both were touched by your music in unspeakable ways. We have passed on our love for your music to our 19 year old daughter and 16 year old nephew. Your music is timeless. But last night was more than I ever could have expected.
As I said the tears started when you walked on stage with your guitar.
I sang my heart out and learned that my musical hero is a man, with a
beautiful heart, incredible talent and a caring soul. Thank you. |
Just wanted to tell Mr Hodgson that was the very first time I'd seem him perform Live like that. Very familiar with your work with Supertramp and solo. I own your Debut Solo CD Eye of the Storm and LOVE the song Had A Dream. That particular song has stuck with me over the years. But I love your other work as well. I didn't even know you were performing until the week prior when my brother in law mentioned something about you playing the Waukesha Co Expo Ctr but he couldn't remember when it was. Then my sister sent me the Taste of Summer link and that's when I seen when you were playing there. I feel it was a sort of destiny for me to finally see you perform LIVE and I must say Mr Hodgson, I was overwhelmed. Even had tears in my eyes at one point. I just wanted to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart for finding the time to come to Wisconsin and sharing your fantastic GIFT with us who were fortunate enough to be there with you last evening. You are an absolute Amazing Talent! Thank you for sharing it with the entire world. God Bless You! Of All the shows I will take in this summer? Yours will be the one I cherish MOST! I say that in all sincerity. I wish you all the best and safe travels to all of your shows. Have a great time in Europe. Kindest regards, |
Dear Linda, We are the eye of the storm ... for an hour and a half, heaven gave us a free pass. Thank-you for sharing it with me. You were gracious in helping me to shake hands with Roger. That simple gesture completed an evening of peaceful happiness for me. Quite unexpected. There was little doubt that the music, the words and the presentation were to be superb....special. As the professional, the artist, Roger would allow nothing less. The last 25 years have taught me that much. But as the night grew, I was blessed with such a peaceful feeling from knowing that strength and values and natural energy drove it all. Any part of me that was jaded is gone; you made me better. Bravo and thank you. Warmest, |
Just THANK you very much. I've read the experience of Jan and Rita: www.freewebs.com/rogerhodgsonzoo And got some emails from Jan and Mike. And some nice comments in the yahoo group. Roger and you made all them so happy ! Well, only Mike was a bit disappointed because the torrential rain ruined their autograph going back to the car ... what a shame. Mike told me the show was amazing and he enjoyed a lot and didn't miss the band. Great. Here the pictures of Mike mmantei.mm.funpic.org/taste/index.html See you ! I'll give you a call when I arrive to Sallanches the 6th July afternoon. Much LOVE |
I just wanted to let Roger and his "staff" know how much I enjoyed his show at Taste of Summer in Waukesha, WI Saturday night June 25, 2005. As one of the organizer of the event, I must say Roger's show was by far the most enjoyable. THANK YOU Roger for a spectacular evening. May God bless you in all that you do. I look forward to seeing you at another show assoon as you return from your European tour. Thanks again, |
Can't begin to tell you how heartbroken my mom and I
were to hear that we missed you June 25 in Wisconsin. Please tell us
you will be back again soon. Your music has been such a joy to us...but
to watch you sing is pure joy. We met you in Milwaukee in June of 98.
We will always love your music. And we are so sad to think that we
missed you. |
